• The No War protest on the Sydney Opera House - while the perpetrators were maligned by the media and community at the time, these days they display all sorts of stuff on the sails of one of Australia's most recognisable landmarks. 
• The conspiracy against JC Chasez from NSYNC -  and why Justin Timberlake became the golden goose for their record company over our man JC. 
• George W Bush declares "Mission Accomplished" on the Iraq War - which turned out to be a public relations nightmare for the US Government. 
• Dawson's Creek comes to an end - and boyfriends around the world rejoice at not having to watch cuch drivel ever again. Spoiler alert, James Van Der Beek cries and we are unable to confirm if the creek did actually belong to Dawson as the name suggests. 
• Fabulous releases a song onto the charts - but we get all caught up int the spelling of his name and the pronunciation, which sounds like the aftermath of a trip to the dentist.
• America's Next Top Model debuts - and we examine how the overall cruelty of the show stacks up against today's standards, plus Tyra Banks versus Naomi Campbell in the gaslighting olympics. 
• Martha Stewart goes to jail - how a little time in the big house can do wonders for your cred and your business empire.

• 50 Cent releases "In Da Club" - the single produced by Dr Dre that put everyone else in the hip-hop community on notice, especially Irv Gotti and Ja Rule. 
• The Space Shuttle Columbia disaster - on Saturday February 1, 2003, Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated as it reentered the atmosphere over Texas and Louisiana, killing all seven astronauts on board. 
• Shane Warne tests positive to a banned substance that was given to him by his mum - poor old Warnie wanted to shed some water weight and the controversy that followed was out of control.
•  Christina Aguilera releases "Beautiful" - we break down the song and talk about how the writer Linda Perry from 4 Non Blondes came to the decision to let Xtina record it. 
• The world protests the war in Iraq - on 15 February 2003, a coordinated day of protests was held across the world in which people in more than 600 cities expressed opposition to the imminent Iraq War. It was part of a series of protests and political events that had begun in 2002 and continued as the invasion, war, and occupation took place. The day was described by social movement researchers as "the largest protest event in human history"
• Heath Ledger stars in the Ned Kelly biopic - we discuss the pehenomenon that sees people with a Ned Kelly tattoo more likely to meet a violent death.

It almost took until the end of the year for what was possibly one of the biggest news stories of 2003 to break but Saddam Hussein is found hiding in a spider hole in Tikrit and captured by US forces. At the same time there's terrosim in Moscow when Red Square is bombed in a Chechan suicide attack.

In popular culture, and almost as horrific, Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson provide colour commentary for the American Billboard Music awards, thankfully we're saved by Kelis, whose Milkshake still brings all the boys to the yard. 

At the movies Tom Cruise has a crack at taking on The Last Samurai, Russell Crowe becomes Master and Commander and a live action remake of Peter Pan creeps everyone out. 

Plus we wish a happy birthday to the most famous woman in the world right now!

George W Bush on board Air Force One touched down in Bagdad this time 20 years ago to surprise the troops with a message  from home and stayed for Thanksgiving dinner. 

From one muppet to another Kami from South Africa's sesame street is appointed the UN mascot for juvenile AIDS victims. Kami made headlines in 2002 when she was introduced as the worlds first HIV positive muppet!

In sporting news Australian cricket legend Steve Waugh retires from the international game. 

In music Outkast are back in the charts with a second single of Speakerboxx/THe Love Below, while Beyonce continues to dominate the number one spot... but for how long?

In the UK Westlife cover Manilow's 'Mandy' and we've got new albums from Missy Elliot, the East Side Boyz and Enrique Iglesias. We also discuss how Anna Kournikova ended up on Joe's toilet floor. 

In music news Nelson Mandela's 46664 Aids benefit concert was held in Capetwon with a massive lineup including Bono, Beyonce and Queen.

A new album, a number one single in the Aussie charts and the youngest singer ever to get a star on the Hollywood walk of fame… What did you get up to when you were 21? Because all of this happened in just one week in the life of our patron saint, Ms Britney Jean Spears! 

It wasn’t a bad week for Outkast either as they crack into the charts with the single ‘Hey Ya’, which would go on to be a mainstay on hot AC radio stations to this day! 

Sadly the war on terror suffers a major blow this week 20 years ago with two bombings in Istanbul that kills over 30 people, including British Consul-General Roger Short, and injuring hundreds more.

In tech news the Theragun becalmed the latest tool  in the microscopic war against infections.

And in sport, Johnny Wilkinson ruins the Wallabies World Cup Rugby campaign when he slots a field goal in extra time and takes the trophy back to the motherland in England. Back when Rugby was good!

A sex tape starts spreading across the internet this tiem 20 years ago, featuring a young Paris Hilton and her ex-boyfriend Rick Salmon. The tape would later be packaged and marketed by porn distributor Red Light District as 'One Night In Paris'. At the time it was all anyone in the mainstream media would talk about, we examine the controversy around it and look at how an incident like this might be treated if it happened today.

We also take a look at the life and death of former child star Jonathon Brandis, who passed away tragically this week 20 years ago. We discuss his career and the events leading up to his death.

One of the most powerful solar flares ever was recorded thie week 20 years ago which saw ghostly auroras appear as far south from the North Pole as Florida. We think it's has a profound effect on the music business this week along with some other world events. Needless to say, doomsday preppers were in heaven. 

Ja Rule rears his ugly head as the herpes of music gives everyone the clap back, Lord Worm is rehired by Cryptopsy and Chingy goes to the Holidae Inn as we attempt to pair him up with a little tea pot courtesy of Mother Goose. 

Plus we've got the premiere of the Average Joe show, which proves that nice guys come last and Arrested Development becomes the freshest new comedy series to grace our sets.

It's a real life horror story this week when 13 year old Bethany Hamilton goes for a morning surf and has her arm bitten off by a tiger shark. While it's a horrible story, Bethany is a pretty incredible human. 

Also in the news… Fuelled by the Santa Ana winds, the Cedar Fire wreaks havoc across California, taking homes and lives with it. On the homefront ASIO conducts a series of terror raids that see the arrest of one WIllie Brigitte, a known terorrist who was not only planning attacks on Australia soil but would later be linked to the Charlie Hebdo massacre in 2015.

In tech news Napster goes legit with the launch of their legal downloading service. Speaking of Napster in music news Fatman Scoop aasaults our ears and the UK number one spot with the single 'Be Faithful'. PLus we've got albims from Machine Head, Run DMC, Sophie Ellis Bextor, DevilDriver, Sugababes and The Living End.

At the box office Scary Movie 3 takes over our screens just in time for Halloween but for the more highbrow, George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones star in Intolerable Cruelty. On the small screen Jackass alumni Bam Margera, Steve O and Chris Pontius make their spinoff debuts with Viva La Bam and Wildboyz. 

Plus we've got a book we did read for a change on the NY Times bestseller list with Michael Moore's "Dude! Where's my Country?'
