In this episode, I talk about my experiences at Houston Fiber Fest, including many things that worked (and some that didn’t) in my booth setup and the weekend as a whole. I update my progress on several WIPs, including a new one. And I did a bit of adding to the stash over the weekend (plus a little before that). I talk about the knitting competition that I have insanely decided to participate in as well as the KAL that goes with the retreat I’m going to in September. Two questions from the Questions for Karen thread, dealing with online privacy and whether or not there was a real King Arthur. Finally, I share more projects finished for the second quarter and the theme for the third quarter.

This episode is a special Q&A episode to celebrate two years of the podcast! Questions range from practical advice to looking ahead to lots of things about the podcast itself. Did you ask a question? If so, you may have won one (or more) of the giveaway prizes! Also, in this episode I note that over the summer, I may not be able to keep the exact every other Thursday schedule of the podcast, so please subscribe and/or join the Ravelry group so you’ll know when new episodes are posted.

In this episode, I talk about the LYS that is my favorite — but which is sadly going out of business. I share some ideas for ways you can help support small businesses to help keep shops like this from closing. The most obvious is to spend money at the business, but I also provide some suggestions for social media and how to help promote the shop to others. I also do an overview of DFW Fiber Fest, including sharing the purchases I was able to make in my briefs dashes around the vendor hall. I have some updates on what I’m knitting (including plans to cast on all the things) and a finished object. I share the last projects posted in the Q1 KAL, who won the prize, and the theme for the current quarter’s KAL. Thanks so much for watching!

In this episode, I share two shirts that I got recently that are too small for me–would they fit you? I’ve also finished my Free Your Fade shawl as well as a couple of sample socks. Mostly the episode is about getting ready for DFW Fiber Fest which starts in two weeks, and I share some of my nerves and jitters about the show as well as some ideas I have for the future of Round Table Yarns. And I have two new (one new-new and one new-to-me) TV shows that I’ve started watching recently.

In this episode, I share a not-so-fun experience with Wall-E and some yarn. Although I haven’t had as much time to knit in the past two weeks, I do have some project progress. And I have three gorgeous sample items to show off, a new self-striping colorway that has been released, and you guys have made some amazing shawls for this quarter’s KAL.

In this episode, I talk about the difference between just something you like and something you claim as a fandom and why we might want to have fandoms. I’ve also made some good progress on several knitting projects though I just hit a wall with one of those projects. Several new samples from sample knitters/crocheters to show off as well as some of the things that have been going out to the current yarn club. Also, I’m looking for booth help for DFW Fiber Fest 2018. Finally, we’ve had several new FOs posted in this quarter’s KAL/CAL thread. I hope you’ll join in!

In this episode, I talk about books and the importance of actually reading them instead of just collecting them. I also share a shawl that I knit over eight years ago and the lessons it taught me. And although I have made some progress on other projects, the past two weeks have been filled with socks, socks, and more socks. (And you get a sneak peek of an upcoming self-striping colorway.) I’m thrilled to announce a fiber retreat that I’ll be going to, as both a participant and a vendor. Two questions for Karen lead to a discussion about what a tech editor is as well as some potential color combinations for a shawl that uses self-striping yarn. I also give a couple of recommendations for things to watch on Netflix and some board games to play with kids and show the prize for the Q1 KAL/CAL.

In this episode, I share a shirt that connects the TARDIS to the power of books and also talk a bit about Luke learning how to read. The shawl that I share is the one that has probably gotten the most wear out of any project I’ve made. One pair of socks and one sample sock off the needles means a new sock project and another new project in addition to what I’ve already been working on. I share the books that I got for Christmas and some recent yarn acquisition, one of which will be going directly into a project currently on the needles. I answer a question from a viewer about swifts and announce the winner of last quarter’s KAL/CAL. And I finished reading one excellent series and have started another equally excellent series, so if you need recommendations for fantasy books, I’ve got some!

In this episode, I share a fun shirt that I got as a gift. Speaking of gifts, I have two more finished items, which completed all my gift knits for the year. I also finished my Q4 KAL shawl, which also qualified for the Indie Design GAL; the shawl was designed by a designer who has been “unrepresented” so far in the GAL, which leads to a discussion about what unrepresented means overall and what it means to and for me. What I’m knitting brings out two projects from hibernation while what I’m dyeing brings two bases to a close. I share a few thoughts on the Doctor Who Christmas special and talk about the importance of listening to music. The theme for the first quarter KAL/CAL for the podcast is announced, and I answer a series of related questions from the Questions for Karen thread. It’s a jam-packed episode!

In this episode, I reflect upon the past year for Round Table Yarns and talk about what’s ahead for 2018 as well as reflect upon a shawl I designed three years ago. I have several more finished gifts, and I’m almost finished with the gift knitting–just one slightly problematic project to go. A little stashing (yarn and book) and discussion of a book series that I’m currently really enjoying. And a look at some of the other platforms out there for crafters to sell what they make. I also show two projects recently finished for the Q4 KAL/CAL and remind you of the prize you could win if you post an FO!
