Have you ever wondered why you are here? I don’t mean why you exist, but why you are here.

Why are you in your present physical location?

Why are you on planet earth?

Why are you in your city?

Why are you in your neighborhood, office cubical, ship, or school?

I mean, you could be anywhere right? But you are not anywhere; you are here. Why here?

In this message, we’ll talk about why God has placed you where he has placed you. Knowing this makes sense out of life.

Everyone sets goals. Some set a goal to make more money. Some set a goal to get more rest. Some set a goal to break a habit while others set a goal to start one.

Goal setting is a useful and necessary part of life. The question is not whether you should set goals but rather, how do you select the right ones. And that is just what the Bible is all about. It teaches us how to set the right goals in life. So this Sunday, I am starting a sermon series called “GOALS.” I will be talking about how we can set the right life-goals and avoid the ones that are just a waste of time.

To reinforce the theme, I am asking you to wear your football jersey each Sunday during this series. Wear it and you’ll better understand why on Sunday.

In this message, Tab Elder, Felton Woodson, encourages us to get back to our roots in 2017. He encourages Christ-followers to resolve to know Christ and to make Him known. He gives three reasons to make this commitment found in 2 Corinthians 5.

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” (Luke 2:14)

At Christmastime we remember that Christ came that we might have peace. In this message, Pastor Kenny discusses three ways that Christ brings peace on earth.

People who have full access passes at a concert or show seldom sit on the back row. They use their “Full Access” privileges to stand or sit right by the stage during the show. They get to go backstage and meet the band or cast. Having a full access pass at an event is pretty cool.

Here is some news that’s better by far. As a follower of Jesus, you have been given a full-access pass to the Kingdom of God.

Unfortunately, many don’t use this privilege to it’s fullest. They just sit on the back row watching the show and never use all the benefits that they have or enjoy the thrill of the action.

In this message, we will be reminded of the full access that we have to our great God and the significance this brings to our lives. We will learn how we can start using our full access pass to God’s Kingdom to its fullest.

This week we continue in our series,”Message in The Manger.” In Luke’s account of Jesus’ birth, we see “Humiliation of The Highest.”

Jesus’ humility was displayed when He voluntarily choose to be born into a poor family, in Bethlehem, an obscure village; and be “laid in a manger, because there was no room in the inn.”

In this week’s message, we’ll see characters in the Christmas story display Christ-like humility which qualified them to see the Savior. This same humility should be evident in the lives of those who follow Jesus.

This week Pastor Kenny kicks off our latest sermon series, “Message in a Manger.” We understand that Christmas is all about Jesus, but why would God choose for His Son to be born in a manger of all places?

Perhaps God is using the manger as an object lesson to teach us more about His priorities and in doing so, shows us where our hearts should be as well.

In work anywhere, twenty-four seven busyness of modern life, it is easy to lose the balance between work and rest. In this message, John Close challenges us to implement a rhythm of rest in our lives by observing the Sabbath.

God values singleness. And that’s good because all of us, no matter our current marital status, will be single in the future ages. Over half of us will end our days on this earth as a single person. Interestingly, one of the things that separate Christianity from other faiths is the high esteem given to the single life. Judaism, Islam and of Mormonism all call their followers to marriage. Only Christianity affirms and even encourages their followers to this status.

Nowhere in the Christian Scriptures is this subject covered more thoroughly than in 1 Corinthians 7, which will be our text for this message. In this passage, we will discover three primary benefits that God has for us in singleness.

Few things can bring more joy than a good marriage. A marriage partner can be one of God’s greatest blessing. But what if God is calling us to something else? What if God is calling us to singleness?

For many, singleness is a result of not finding a spouse or perhaps the result of losing one. But what if God wants us to actually choose singleness? What if God wants singleness to be a choice rather than a consequence?

In this message, I am going to open God’s Word and share some counter-intuitive statements that Jesus makes regarding singleness and our reason to celebrate it. If you would like to come prepared, please read Matthew 19:3-12.
