Tabletop Hot Takes episodes
- Railroading in Moderation
Funky and Aria show their autistic colors by talking about trains.
Railroading is a dirty word for so many people in RPGs. Funky and Aria think that's wrong. They talk about 19th century story theory, west marches games, and compromising.

50 min - Mental Illness and RPGs
So many games want to have the ability to express mental illness in their characters. They "accomplish" that goal in so many different ways. Aria opens the floor to discuss this with Funky and talk about the pros and cons of different options here. They then contemplate the gentle sound of falling rain...
CW: mental illness, specific diagnoses, honestly just the whole episode and a lot of different topics (I know that's not helpful, but I don't have something better.)

About Tabletop Hot Takes
From the publisher's feed
A Podcast about Tabletop Role Playing Games (TTRPGs), our thoughts and feeling on them, and, of course, hot takes.
We explore TTRPG history, indie RPGs, advice, recommendations, and all kinds of other great things.
Professor Aria was raised in the fire of TTRPGs having run and played Shadowrun, D&D 5E, Ryuutama, and several indie RPGs. They have Game Mastered for almost ten years. They are trying to make their own system, an exploration of cyberpunk fantasy in an approachable, customizable system.
Professor Funky has run TTRPGs for over 20 years and for far too many systems to count, though he will try. He is in the process of making his own system and publishing a fantasy adventure, The Plot of Conquerors, as well.
