He has traveled throughout the United State and Latin America and has studied the progress of people of African descent to measure realistically how much progress has been made since slavery and Jim Crow ended. He is convinced that one of the reasons there is still such a societal lag for African Americans is due to low self-esteem and a poor self-image that is perpetuated by the macro social institutions. He is committed to eradicating this psychological conditioning and helping all minorities improves their self-esteem and the quality of their lives. Guest starring Mrs. Arlene Day. Mrs. Arlene Day aka “Mama Day” is an author of a memoir titled “I Promised My Friend”, an advocate for mental illness, and retired nurse with over 40 years of experience cherished not only for her gifts as an excellent orator and writer but for her commitment to her community. Mama Day was born in the Bronx, New York where she led a good life and was an excellent student graduating from high school with a degree in Nursing. She got married and worked as a LPN throughout Long Island and New York City. She raised three beautiful children in Roosevelt, Long Island all of whom were A students and graduated from universities. Mama Day was an active parent and known throughout the entire Roosevelt community. Mama Day is the proud grandparent of three beautiful granddaughters. In her spare time she writes, crochets, knits, swims, does martial arts and african dance. In 2002, Mama Day was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and she determined to not let the disease have her but to be a successful survivor and to help others on the road of recovery. She joined the National Association for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) and became a presenter as part of their In Our Own Voice (IOOV) Program. Mama Day’s presentations leave audiences in the aisles and feeling like their cravings and buds for information have been satisfied. A film called Perseverance documenting Arlene Day’s extraordinary life was made. Arlene Day is the consummate educator who enjoys interacting with her audience, therefore whenever she is onstage you will be guaranteed that you will experience all the elements of an excellent speaker!

Mr. William Thomas is the author of the book “How It Works”. He also is a counselor and mentor with other twenty five years of experience. Mr. Thomas has worked in many fields of endeavor including the garment, jewelery, and diamond districts. Additionally, Mr. Thomas was the Director of Neighborhood Youths Corps, a city wide program and was the assistant basketball coach with the Association of Black Athletes. Mr. William Thomas was born in Harlem, New York in 1944 and had a village up bringing. Mr. Thomas has had many debilitating illnesses that taught him to keep moving forward and never, never give up. He says it's not what happened to you, it is what you do when it happens to you. Mr. Thomas has a varied educational background where he has studied at the Institute for the Crippled and Disabled, Medgar Ever College, Pace College, and Cornell University Consortium program. Mr. Thomas was homeless for a number of years and found he was down but not out. He says after his initial pity party, he picked himself up and dusted himself off and found work with the help of a close friend who never gave up on him. Mr. Thomas is an self-taught artist who loves playing chess and back gammon. Mr. Thomas has a great green thumb which testifies to an apartment full of home grown plants. He also loves to read and has a vast dvd, cd and book collections.He is now a motivational speaker who is helping others through knowledge he has gained from his education and work and life experiences.

Guest starring John Brown "JB." Born and raised in Harlem, NY JB has been living HIPHOP ever since he can remember. Influenced by soul and jazz cats Barry White (rip), Lionel Hampton, Miles Davis, Prince of the 80’s & 90’s as well as HIPHOP acts Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, JB was able to hone his skills in production and emceeing. This self taught piano player now hails from Albany, NY. JB has been taking music seriously for 10 yrs and has performed with many major and minor signed acts including Big Pun (rip), Lost Boyz, Brand Nubian, The Lox, Beatnuts, Onyx, Common, Mr. Cheeks, Amerie, Nine (remember him?), and many more..... JB started out in 1993 being involved in a group called Mad Flowa’s,then in 1996 the group went their separate ways to pursue solo endeavors. Since then JB has become a complete artist by taking guitar lessons and producing music for many of the capitol districts HIPHOP artists..... In 1997 JB wrote, produced, recorded and pressed his solo debut 7 song EP Allegory which sold an impressive 2,200 units from October ‘97 to April ’98. Then after a small break from the biz, JB accompanied by Tunnel Rat Sev Statik recorded an EP in late ’98 and formed a group called Illumination which set the stage for the follow-up solo LP entitled Total Karnage which had 19 songs and a skit. Released in 1999 and after selling close to 5,000 units JB went on a small tour of the surrounding states.
