In his book, James explains a very simple voting system that allows us to reframe how we look at habits.
In the simplest forms, the more that we perform a certain habit, the more of 'that type of person' we become.
For example...If I decide that I am a person who is into fitness...the more that I put effort into my fitness (such as each time that I work out), the more that I get to put these mental votes into becoming that type of person. The less of the habits that I perform that contribute to being into fitness, the less of that type of person I become.
