This week, we’re talking about Drake vs Pusha T (like basically everyone else on the planet).  Since my co-host is not too well versed in the ins-and-outs of hiphop, this seemed like a good time to talk about this battle and answer some of her questions. This battle has some classic elements of old battles like Kool Moe Dee vs Busy Bee, Nas vs Jay-Z, LL Cool J vs Kool Moe Dee, etc., but there are a few differences we decided to point out. …And then there’s the blackface issue. This past week, the NFL revealed their new Anthem policy (which makes no sense considering the debate had sorta died down toward the end of the season) and it's possibly the stupidest thing they've done in almost a whole 6 months. Since we are both avid football fans, we found it hard to not speak on this subject (even though once Trump opened his mouth, we kinda didn't want to because we didn't want to have to talk about him...at all) because overall, it's going to affect the game we both love in one way or another. This week, we're talking about the Rachel Dolezal documentary on Netflix called "The Rachel Divide". We watched it and had a few thoughts about it we decided to share. Although, this isn't something that's going to change many minds, it was a good watch that brought up a ton of questions we tackled in this episode. Admittedly (and as per usual), our opinions won't line up with popular opinion, but we gave our honest feedback on her desire to be considered black and how the documentary explored how she got to this point in the first place. Also, we discussed if this is something worth being angry about or are the majority of the people that are "mad" overreacting?

There has been a lot of talk about the symbolism in the video, so we didn't spend a bunch of time going over the same stuff (unlike everybody else), but we did want to address the underlying messages that we felt the video was attempting to start a conversation on. Also, the idea that has been floating around about Bino's "new found wokeness" was a bit irritating mainly because he's been doing this type of performance art and addressing race and other social issues for almost 8 years and seemingly, very few people noticed. We went back to some of his earlier music and videos like "Sober", Bonfire", "Telegraph Ave." and "Sweatpants" to evidence the fact that: This ain't exactly new territory for him.

Kelly-ing" like he has been since Steve Urkel was on TV, but lately people have actually come to their senses and took notice; Kelis dry snitched on Nas, which isn't really an issue...the issue is how many people refuse to believe her and want some sort of "proof" to validate her claims; And then there's Kanye...Listen, Kanye took the cake and made it evident to us there was no way we'd spend an entire show on his foolishness and, in effect, giving him what he most likely wants or, at the very least, would benefit from: everyone talking about him at all times. Kanye was the tipping point that let us make the decision to save our sanity and run through all 4 topics in one episode.

This week we're talking about religion. I know...I know, this isn't the most popular subject for some, but we kept getting reinforcement in different forms that made us just decide to talk about it. We watched a Netflix movie called "Come Sunday" and that was the final straw. Long story short, some of the views in it were very similar to feelings and beliefs we have had debates about off the mic. Does Hell exist? Is the Devil real? Do murderers, child molesters, etc. have any chance of going to heaven? What about atheist? We answered all of these questions based on our beliefs during this episode. The idea is not to convert anyone to our way of thinking, but to simply express our point of view on the subject. That being said: If this subject is too sensitive for you, skip it...we (as usual) didn't bother to take into account every single persons' feelings before recording, we just pressed record and spoke from the heart.
