In this passage of Scripture James talks about the power of the tongue.  We have incredible power in our tongue to build up our community or destroy it. 

This is a challenging passage of Scripture where James writes that faith without works is useless.  

In this passage James rebukes the church for showing favoritism to the rich.   It's a challenging passage as James reminds us that we are called to love our neighbor [everyone] as we love ourselves and that favoritism is sin.  Unfortunately, I had a throat infection during this recording and so my voice isn't as strong as normal.
