How is your To-Do list looking? Is it ever shrinking... or ever growing?
If you are like many leaders of growth businesses, your To-Do list is likely growing. However, the most effective leaders have short To-Do lists, and instead focus their time on their To-Achieve list.
In this week's video, I share a simple 3 part strategy to shrink your To-Do list, free up time for your To-Achieve items, and get more of your important objectives realized.

In this video I’d like to share my tips for recruiting top talent to your business. Talented employees (the ‘A Players’) can elevate your business to the next level. We all want them, but what can we do to attract them to join us rather than our competitors?
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE 👈
To attract top tier talent you need to be a great leader: to know what a good leader looks like for your business is as important as knowing the ideal attributes of the ‘A player’ you are looking for. If you want the best on your team you have to give your best as a leader and know there is always room for improvement.
Of course, it’s also important to identify key attributes, abilities and skills of the ideal candidate you're looking for, but moving beyond this, it’s vital that you appreciate that great leaders inspire greatness.
As a leader, you can only ask for loyalty if you are loyal to yourself and your team. Being aware of your abilities and looking for ways to improve as a leader helps to recruit top talent and retain the right kind of talented employees to your team.

When you’re in high growth mode, a time will come when things start to get sloppy. Deadlines start getting missed, mistakes begin to happen more often in the office and in the field - and everyone is getting a little stressed.
This is when we run into Execution Drift - when things just don't work the way they used to - and you as the business leader get distracted from the strategic, and pulled into the day to day tactical problem solving. In other words, you are getting stuck in the weeds.
In this week’s video, I share a strategy to get you and your team out of the weeds and executing on the strategic initiatives that are key to managing your growth.

As business leaders, we all get stuck from time to time. In this video I'd like to share a problem solving framework that you can use to move through stuck points in your business.
If you find this video helpful, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE 👈
The formula is called AADA which stands for:
Avoidance - often if we feel stuck, or we have a major challenge in our business, we might just avoid dealing with it. But problems aren't going to fix themselves, so you need to tackle the problem head on and not just try to avoid it!
Analysis - You need to gather enough data to help you take the first couple of steps, but you don't have to have the whole thing mapped out. Just get rolling, you don't need to see the end of the road when you're first setting off.
Decision - What action are you going to take? Make the decision then...
Action - Take action and see what happens. Once you've got momentum you can power through a problem, but if you stay stuck and not doing anything you're not going to get anywhere!
Don't worry about hitting the gas. That's the great thing about this AADA problem solving framework. You can just idle along but the momentum this small action creates will help you to see different perspectives and different results, and based on what you see you can adapt and change your direction, as needed.

But what is momentum in business? Well, it's essentially when everything is going really well. You're in growth mode, you're having fun with the business, and good things just continue to happen.
What’s often overlooked by business owners, however, is the fact that there's going to be a time component to achieving that momentum. If you want to achieve significant results, you’re going to have to make a consistent effort.
Part of the problem is that we're too focused on instant gratification. One of the first things you need to do to learn how to build momentum is to stop chasing after short-term gains. What I often see is that people start something, they don't get results right away, and they stop. They never develop consistency.
When you plant a seed, you know it’s going to take time. You water it regularly, even when you don’t see anything sprouting. With the right inputs (sun, nutrients, water) and patience, that plant will grow.
You should think of your business in the same way. Make a consistent effort, even when it seems like nothing is happening.
Learning how to build momentum is a crucial skill that every successful business owner should develop. Start taking daily action and the benefits may surprise you.

Back when you started your business, your intelligence and ability to think of everything, take care of everything, and solve problems quickly was absolutely critical, and helped you get where you are now.
But, is this the way forward, now that you have a team? Could you be hanging on to too much, and getting bogged down?
In order to get into serious growth mode, you need to start doing less, and getting your team to do more - more problem solving, and more decision making, and more execution.
It can be challenging to let go and trust your team to do things as well as you would - especially if you’ve trained them to come to you with problems to solve for them.
Check out this week's video for some strategies on how to let go and empower your team to grow your business for you!

As humans, we will quickly move away from pain, just switch course, and may look to blame external factors for why things didn't work out.
But if we don’t see how our own thinking has contributed to the situation, we’re going to continue to have that problem repeated over and over again.
Whether it’s an issue with our team, our customers, our sales performance, or any other condition that we’d like to be different, we have to dig into our own personal role in why it’s happening.
In this week’s video, I’ll share an example and a strategy to work a problem back to the roots of our own thinking so we can make the real change we need.

Are you finding that the more your business grows, the more stretched you become?
It’s common for business leaders - especially founders - to hang on to tasks and responsibilities, that really could (and should) be done by someone else on their team.
As your business growth accelerates, your time, energy and effort need to be focused more and more on the strategic, growth management oriented work. Otherwise, you're likely to hit a plateau, as there is just not enough of you to go around.
In this episode I’m going to share three simple steps to help you get 'fired' from the tasks that are slowing you down - and how to get your growth accelerating!

Have you ever had a meeting that ended with you believing that everyone was on point, knowing what they need to do, only to review at the next meeting, and find out that not everything was completed, because it turned out, not everyone was clear after all?
This can lead to frustration, and a lot of wasted time.
Holding effective meetings can be a challenge for many business owners, so I’m sharing a strategy that you can use to improve clarity, commitment, and execution, both during a meeting, and most importantly, after everyone has left the meeting.
This last part is crucial, because that’s when the decisions made in the meeting, are actually executed. I hope you find this a useful strategy to improve your execution.
Let me know how it works for you.

A major challenge faced by leaders of high growth businesses is the recruiting, onboarding and retaining of great team members.
One of the most critical phases here is the onboarding process. This is what the new team member experiences from their first day onward, and we need to get this right. If we don't (and maybe you have experienced this), we risk losing a great hire, or having issues with performance or morale.
So, what are some of the key aspects of an effective onboarding process?
