Welcome to take once a week! My name is Caleb, and I will be your host. In this episode, I discuss my goals for the podcast, what the content will look like, and other nuances. The first official recap will be posted on Wednesday!
Welcome to Take Once a Week, your weekly source of all things pharmacy. Subscribe to this podcast on Apple podcasts, Google podcasts, and Spotify. Welcome to the show.
The date today is March 1st. My name is Caleb, and I'm the host today on this episode, I want to start by sharing my reasoning for starting the podcast. I believe that anybody can read about the news pharmacy has kind of had a spotlight on it related to the COVID pandemic, um, developments, vaccines, all that stuff. Everybody is hearing about pharmacy. There are only a few specific news sources dedicated to giving updates on pharmacy, but none of them provide any sort of podcasts. I think that podcasting can be very powerful. Can allow you to absorb a lot of information very quickly in the form of audio. So you don't have to sit down at a computer and read. Basically I want this podcast to serve as a quick daily update, more or less a news recap that you can listen to while getting ready for the day, driving the work, et cetera, regarding scheduling I've planned on posting every week, Wednesday mornings.
This is going to allow you guys to have updates from the previous week, as well as developments that are occurring in the week in which the podcast is posted. I plan on pulling from a variety of news sources and this podcast is going to cover national news. It's not going to cover local news. So that way it is more applicable, um, to people that may be listening far away from where I'm located. Additionally, pulling from a variety of news sources is going to function to limit the, any, any sort of opinion from either the new sources or myself that could show up in the news recaps, because ultimately I want to make sure that my listeners are going to be receiving the most up-to-date and accurate information free from opinion and bias. Another goal that I have for this podcast is I want it to make it understandable to those that are both inside and outside the world of pharmacy, whether you are working in big pharma, you're a pharmacist or you're somebody who is just interested about pharmacy developments.
I don't plan on complicating things too much. I plan on explaining how developments are occurring, what it means, what it means for you in your life. And I plan on keeping these episodes brief less than 10 minutes long. I want to provide you with just the surface, the updates on what is going on throughout the day. So I won't bog you down with all the details I'll give you what's important and I will make it quick. If this is something that seems of interest to you. I hope to see you on Wednesday for episode two, where I will be providing my first weekly recap. Thanks for listening.
