My guest this week was Fiona Smiddy – Founder of Green Outlook. Green outlook is an Irish business that curates a range of natural and sustainable products but also educates and helps people to make better choices of products they are buying. 

Fiona however wasn’t always an entrepreneur. She is a chartered accountant, who worked for a renewable energy company that closed down. Fiona took this as an opportunity to travel and visited multiple countries. This experience was an eye-opening event to her where she realised how much impact we have on this planet. So, when she returned from her trip, she decided not to return to the safe, well-known waters of accounting, but she took the step and decided to open up a business that carries a strong sustainable message.

This week I spoke to Julie Stamenic, who shares with us how she went from an IT Finance project manager to a self-taught photographer, writer, and full-stack developer.  Julie’s story is not an ordinary one, as she has decided to “take the step” during one of the most unstable times in human history – the pandemic of COVID19.

Her creative mind and entrepreneurial mindset have brought her to the decision to leave the corporate environment and create something of her own. Does she regret doing so and what did she learn along the way? Listen to find out.

My first guest is Maša Nobilo, an inspiring young woman who turned her hobby into a passion and ultimately became self-employed. Maša started her professional career as a translator and an interpreter at the European Parliament, however with the time passing she realised that her true interest lays elsewhere.
