It's always a pleasant surprise when you find out about the amazing projects a friend of yours has worked on. In today's episode, we invite Joy Helena Chen on to talk about her experiences as an author, screenwriter, and storyteller and how she's translated her storytelling to a sizable following on TikTok.
In the episode, we do briefly mention eating disorders. We understand that this can be a sensitive topic so if you wish to skip that portion of the episode, we're providing the timestamps to help you do so:

We're joined this episode by Charlie, to talk about his story as a member of the AAPI and LGBTQ+ communities. We go through some of the struggles he faced growing up and his thoughts on what the AAPI community can work towards to become a more inclusive community.

Welcome back to Takeout everyone! It's been a while but we're finally back with another episode and many more to come in our newest season. I'm now joined by a brand new and amazing co-host, Sean! Hey everyone, welcome back to Takeout. It's been a while and I'm glad you're still here. I wanted to record an episode where I share my thoughts and reactions to the recent attacks against Asian Americans both for myself to remember and reflect on and for anyone who wants to hear. Hopefully you resonate with some of the things I say and let's work together to do better. My prayers go out to all of the victims and families that have suffered as a result of this wave of attacks and I'll continue to use my platform (as small as it may be) to speak out.
Give your loved ones a hug for me during these troubling times.
Sincerely,
Stephen

In our final episode of the Debunking the Model Minority series, we wrap up the discussion with some key takeaways from the previous episodes while also emphasizing some next steps we all can take. We hope that some of the topics we've discussed resonate or have some impact on your perspective and we encourage you to keep reading and learning! Compassion is something everyone needs a bit more of in 2020.
In our third episode on the Model Minority Myth, we talk about how the Model Minority title harms our relationships with and perception of other minorities. We cover where the "model minority" title started and how it can be harmful in ways we oftentimes don't think about or see in the AAPI commmunity.
As always, special thanks to our friend Alan Lee for providing us with dope music to use. You can check him out here:
