After a tragic event, I realized that I was letting what happened to me, control me. We can't control what happens to us but we can control what happens next.  It's easy to cast blame but what good does that do? We can't change the past. We can though, choose how we respond to events that happen to us. Taking that responsibility is taking the power back, regaining control.
