Owning the Wait

[Taking Full Ownership Series] Self Care & Presentation Matters

Listen Later

This is our final episode in the taking ownership series and we saved a unique topic for last. We believe that prioritizing self care as a leader is extremely important in showing up to work in the proper mindset. We feel that this was somewhat of a controversial opinion until the last few years where society has started to understand the benefits.

We will be discussing why we feel that all leaders should be prioritizing their own self care and how this can benefit their teams. We also will discuss some of our personal self care items, some habits that we think any leader could integrate into their life, and some other helpful tips to make you appear more professional and confident.

This topic may not sound as if the advice is as tactical as the remainder of the episodes in this series, but we believe that if you can properly integrate some self care into your life and show up to work with an improved confidence and energy, that you can make a massive impact.

What you’ll hear in this episode:

[1:22] What is self-care for leaders and what are some ways you can practice this in your own life?

[3:45] How can self-care impact your confidence as a leader?

[7:36] What are some examples from Cyd and Jillian where prioritizing self-care has impacted their presence as leaders?

[14:22] What are some basic tips to make yourself present in a more professional matter?

[21:56] How to handle nervousness in a professional situation.
