The dogged pursuit of finding and eliminating the eight deadly wastes from your processes – it’s the classic Lean theory, with a proven track record for success.

So the statement posed by PMI Senior Consultant Damion Albinson – “taking out waste may not make you Lean” is contentious at best.  But consider this:  where do your activities fit within the overall program of improvement, and how do you know that the changes you’ve worked hard to achieve haven’t caused a bottleneck in another part of the system?

Join Damion as he thinks about Lean in the context of the entire value stream, and how the biggest gains to be found in Lean improvement might not be in the most obvious places.
