good morning wonderful big wide world welcome to royal clearance now then i've been really researching uh as obviously because i said in yesterday's broadcast i i didn't know about the energy that nfts were in terms of artwork were taking up and so i thought i'd better do some research for you so it turns out it's really not very good at all and every nft sale uses ninety percent more i'm talking about an art was an nft as a single artwork uses ninety percent more energy than the artwork would have used if it had been made displayed and sold and delivered in lorry ninety percent more i i i was absolutely pulled over by that now you know figures on the internet you never know if they're exactly right but i i believe that's what you're paying for you see when you make a sale you've got to pay because of all these different steps in the blue they call it a blockchain and it's like all the different people that are involved in this sale need to be paid and that's why you pay all these gas fees that's why they can cost you know three hundred dollars so i've been really thinking about that because of course i'm you know i'm a member a fellow of the rfrsa fellow of the royal society of arts and you know one of our big drives is is you know eco sustainability but just be ridiculous if i uploaded all my thousands of artworks onto opencv so i'm really concerned about it so i think the best way i'm not going to not have any nfts because artists have to make money we have to offer our art to wherever the market is it's ridiculous to say you know is your your career you know you can't have one um in a sustainable in in i'm talking about a sustainable market in terms of finance not um uh you know the green issues but i i'm thinking to myself well i won't put up thousands anymore and i've got some ideas about protest nfts and doing nfts where half the money goes to you know charities basically eco charities or eco-sustainable um projects and i don't know yet if that's going to work out just to be ridiculously hypocritical you know i'm really confused today about what to do about that but the other thing that i am going to do is i'm going to really push for my eco lines which are much more about posters postcards i couldn't artist proof today is absolutely stunning really stunning i was watching something yesterday about the surrealists actually how to be surrealists on british tv it was really rather good and i was totally inspired by some of the i mean very blokey they were all men and i get irritated actually when i'm listening to these documentaries and there is very few women there were women later on they started off as models and muses and they became artists in their own right and the furry cup if you've seen the fairy cup i won't go into details about that now but have a look around i'll be doing a blog about it later stunning artworks actually by the women who did get involved and as i said i'll be doing a list of those later we've got to seek them out darlings you see we've got to seek out these women and and make sure everybody knows about them um anyway i'm digressing so i was totally inspired and i'm going to get a dark room i'm going to turn my loo in because there is no window in in my lou this is perfect for a dark room so i was looking online about you know trying to buy up people have dark rooms and and very few people want to dark room these days it's all digital and i hate digital you know i find it um the whole process of digitization whilst it's wonderful and easy and clean i like the cleanliness of it i knew this would happen to me i knew that when i got involved in digitization i would i would want to get dirty i want i want to get hands-on this is the thing with art especially my generation you know we were brought up with you know crayons and coloring in and we went to art school and we colored in and used crayons more crayons more and they just moved to pastels and...
