hi tail tellers welcome to music school and today we're playing air instruments and we're playing now a flute along to twinkle twinkle little star now flutes are different to a cello or a violin because we just use our fingers and our mouth so for this exercise we're going to do something with our tongue and our lips and we're going to can you make it sound with your tongue on the roof of your mouth

when you play a recorder what you make a little

sound as you blow

can you hear that

now as we play along to twinkle twinkle little star today we're going to use both our hands all of our fingers and our tongue and our mouth so can you wiggle your fingers on your imaginary recorder or flute if it's a flute it would be sideways if it's a recorder it would be downwards and can you wiggle your fingers up and down on your imaginary flute at the same time as you do this

you can do any of those things but the only thing you need to do when you're miming is to play in time with the beat of the music so should we give it a go guys let's play the track and see how we get on i'll try and get loud enough above the sound of the music so that you can hear me going but it is quite difficult to make it loud and maybe i should turn the music down a bit let's give it a go and see how we get on so remember hold your instrument and or blow blow blow with the beat of the song let's try it now oh that was quite hard did you move your fingers at the same time no nor did i so should we try now and move our fingers up and down our imaginary instrument at the same time as we do the okay are you ready let's do it now

chapter 3 of raggedy ann and andy and the camera with the ring called knees this is a library fox recording all library vox recordings are in the public's domain for more information or to volunteer please visit librivox.org ragdyan and the camel with wrinkled needs by john gruelle when they come with the wrinkled knees harassed for a few minutes he again started running backwards and was jumping along very fast when raggedy hands cried suddenly whoa the camel immediately stopped and raggedy anne and raggedy andy not expecting him to stop so suddenly rolled off his back and turned over and over in the grass why did he cry woe the camel wished to know when raggedy ann and raggedy andy had picked themselves up and came back to him there's a girl standing over there crying ragdian said we must go over and see what is the trouble ragdian took the hanky from the camel's eyes and the three walked over towards little girl when they two girls saw them she stopped crying and said don't come any closer all the snapdragons will catch you hmm amused raggedy angry snapdragons who's afraid of snapdragons not me and with that he walked right up to the little girl raggedy ann when she saw that nothing happened to randy andy auto walked up to the little girl the snapdragons are nothing but flowers raggedy andy said and indeed this was true for all about little girls feet pretty flowers were twined how long have been standing here to go ragdian asked for a long long time little girl replied every time i try and walk away from the snapdragons catch my feet and hold me nonsense raggedy andy exclaimed catch hold of my hand and we'll walk over to where there are no snapdragons but when there's a girl did this ragged andy tried to walk he found that the snapdragons also fastened themselves around his legs and when raggedy anne caught hold raggedy andy's hand and pulled it the snapdragons wrapped themselves around her feet and held her you see little girl cried now you were prisoners too we will never get away from them when the camel saw that ragdian had become a prisoner too he turned and walked still further away from the snapdragons and sat down to think it over although the camel with the wrinkled knees sat and tried to think for a long long time he could not think of a way to rescue his friends from the snapdragons even though he scratched his head with his left hind leg he could not think of a way i wonder how long we would have to stay here before we were rescued ragnan mused out loud we may have to stay here for years and years little girl cried then she told ragdian and raggedy andy all about herself my name is jenny little girl began and my brother's name is jan we used to live in a little cottage right in the center of the deep deep woods little cottage was no larger than a big dry good box but that was large enough for janet me you see we lived all by ourselves didn't you have a mum or dada raggedy and aston surprise no jenny replied actually brushed her tear from my eye mum and dad went to see grandma one day and they never came back so jan and i went into the deep deep woods to hunt for mama and daddy but we could not find them and we could not find our way back home so when we discovered the dear little cottage which is no larger than dry goods box jen and i lived there but where's jan now raggedy andy wanted to know i was just about to tell you jenny replied in the deep deep woods as you surely must know there are gnomes and elves and fairies and besides the fairies and gnomes and elves there are other little creatures sometimes jan and i could not see the little fairies and gnomes and elves or other little creatures but we could hear them singing or laughing or talking then out of the toms we could see them but we could not hear them when sometimes you could see and hear them too and so one day jan went out in back of the cunning little...

Lightly Row Suzuki Book 1 Piano Phrasing Class With Sarnia Tale Teller Music School.

hello tail tellers welcome to telltale club guess what's happening today i'm so excited i'm so so excited we're starting a new song yes we're starting a new suzuki song it's called lightly ro and it's suzuki because it's in the suzuki book suzuki doesn't own this song but this is the suzuki version that we're going to play from but actually it's a german folk song and this is one of those songs that's handed down through generations and generations of children have learned to play it it's quite simple but we're learning so many more things for example we're learning about holding a note down for a count of two and we're learning about phrasing what does phrasing mean well do you see when i say what does phrasing mean my voice kind of goes up and down and up and down and comes back what does phrasing mean it kind of forms what's called a phrase phrases are like sections and they really imply that our body or our musicality our movement or our voice is performing a sentence a musical sentence how fabulous is that so today we're going to pop our hand on the piano not the middle c area the c above the middle c area from here this is the sea that we're using today my other taotella club we use other seas on other instruments but this is the sea that we're using today for the suzuki book okay can you play me that see and one more time and are you playing it with your thumb

yes tail tiller jolly good now if you put your fingers down all on the adjacent notes you have c d e f g f e d c with fingers thumb two three four five four three two one i had to think then because when we play cello we call the second finger of first finger and it gets a bit confusing but for the piano we're on thumb two three four five four three two one you can play all those notes at once oh that was a noise and a half wasn't it

not sure if i like that noise what does it sound like a big bunch of clown cars that's what so the first note we're going to play is pinkie g and then we're going to play two e's and we're going to hold that e for twice as long as the other notes so the counting is like this 1 2 three hold do you see one two three hold and the next bar we're going to play f with our fourth finger and d with our pointy finger finger two and similar to the previous bar we're playing one two three hold okay so like this
