TFTB Film Club is back, and apologies in advance. Our Film Clubbers decided to review the much maligned, Jupiter Ascending from 2015. When this came out, the unfortunate reviewer assigned from The Guardian called this film “…absolute nonsense” with “…dialogue that would make George Lucas cringe.” 

For reasons we can’t truly justify, we’re bringing it back. Come circle the drain with us one more time, we promise to make it fun.

Neuromancer was written by William Gibson in 1984, and reading it now will make you appreciate just how far ahead of its time this book was. This series began a sub genre of science fiction that includes The Matrix, Cyberpunk 2077, Ghost in a Shell, among others. 

We’re currently enjoying a golden age in science fiction literature, and it’s fun to see where some of the foundations for this moment came from.
