Kimla Desrosiers was raised Catholic until she encountered her first awakening upon reading about Buddhist teachings. The idea that everything within reality can be broken down into wisdom and compassion resonated so deeply with her, that she felt something within her heart break open and remember. Much to her parents’ discomfort, she left the Catholic Church, joined the Universal Unitarian church and eventually became a Tibetan Buddhist, taking a vow that spans across lifetimes. In this episode, she shares with us her experience of leaving her body for the first time, the beings she met there, and the wisdom they shared. She also shares her experience of clear light, non-duality, and oneness, something that is quite ineffable and yet simultaneously, could be discussed until the end of time. Yet, like many of my podcasts guests, her approach is grounded, and her work is real, as she continues to model the never-ending balancing act that is being human.

Dr. Nancy McLaughlin-Walter never expected that she would end up studying consciousness. First, I’d like to thank you all for your patience as Tales From the Truth Seekers had to take a brief hiatus. But we are back, and the past few weeks’ episodes will be coming to you this week! I am excited to reintroduce a truly magical person to you all, Mr. Mark Phillips, whom you may have met in Season One. Mark opens up about his continued psychic evolution at Arthur Findlay College, which we affectionally refer to as the “real life Hogwarts.” (Yes, it is a magic school, housed inside a beautiful chateau in the UK.) Mark also gives real world, down to earth, examples of the incredible healing experiences that can come from mediumship work, as he acts as a bridge between worlds, connecting loved ones from the beyond. Lastly, Mark shares an astonishing update for us from his own story, that will leave you with a new-found faith in the power of love.

When Joan Walton wast just 16 years old, she walked out of church confirmation classes, upon learning the ceremony meant that she believed every single word in the Bible to be true. This started a lifelong, experiential, journey for Joan that set her on a path to discover universal spiritual truths for herself. From discovering the works and practices of Carl Jung, to the sudden and tragic death of her loving husband, to becoming the chair of the board for the Scientific and Medical Network, Joan has an incredible and inspiring story to share with all of us, and she makes it clear that the story is indeed where true awakening lies. Joan’s Bio: Joan is an Honorary Research Fellow with the Alef Trust. She is also a Principal Research Supervisor on the PhD Applied Transpersonal Psychology programme, and a research mentor for the Conscious Community Initiative. Joan gained her PhD from the University of Bath. Her thesis tells the story of her spiritual journey and draws on the social sciences, philosophy, depth and transpersonal psychology, eastern and western religions, quantum physics, and a science of consciousness. Her first degree was in the social sciences, and her Masters in Race & Education. She is also a professionally qualified social worker. Following a career in social work and education, Joan moved into the academic world. She is now in the School of Education, Language and Psychology at York St John University (YSJ), where she teaches and supervises postgraduate researchers registered for a PhD or a professional doctorate.

Joan has an interest in, and teaches, Research Methodologies, especially those that challenge the separation inherent in positivist paradigms. She has a particular interest in participative dialogue, co-operative inquiry, and other forms of integrating theory and action. She co-leads the cross-university research group Participatory Enquiry, Action Research & Democratic Methodologies in the Institute for Social Justice at YSJ. Joan is a member of the Board of Directors of the Scientific and Medical Network, a member of the Galileo Commission Steering Group, and is the Chair of the Executive Committee of the International Network for the Study of Spirituality.

Dr. Joan Walton has generously offered to switch hats with the host of Tale from the Truth Seekers so that listeners could get the inside perspective on Natalie’s story, what motivated her to start the podcast to begin with, and what she has learned and observed by interviewing 30+ people about their spiritual experiences in just one year. Dr. Joan Walton’s main role is at York St. John University in the UK, in the School of Education. She is also chaired by of the board of directors for The Scientific and Medical Network, and chair of the executive committee of the International Network for the Study of Spirituality, Consciousness and Science. In 1977, P.M.H. Atwater died and came back three consecutive times. After this experience, she was sure that she was going crazy, until she attended a symposium in which a speaker gave a talk on eternal consciousness and shared an image that exactly matched what she had experienced when she died. She was finally validated. Since then Sioux has focused her research on the paranormal in human history, mainly focusing on UFOs/Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).
