Dr. Joan Walton has generously offered to switch hats with the host of Tale from the Truth Seekers so that listeners could get the inside perspective on Natalie’s story, what motivated her to start the podcast to begin with, and what she has learned and observed by interviewing 30+ people about their spiritual experiences in just one year. Dr. Joan Walton’s main role is at York St. John University in the UK, in the School of Education. She is also chaired by of the board of directors for The Scientific and Medical Network, and chair of the executive committee of the International Network for the Study of Spirituality, Consciousness and Science. Natalie and Joan discuss the challenges of integrating back into society after a spiritual encounter, and the ten years of Natalie’s closeted existence, as she desperately jumped from one spiritual community to the next in hopes to find validation and support. They also dive into how healing the podcast has been for Natalie, as it forced her to come all the way out of the spiritual closet, naturally attracting others who have gone through the same thing, thus forming the spiritual community she’d always been hoping to find. Natalie highlights multiple episodes from past seasons, reveals big plans for the future of the podcast, and offers a big picture perspective on the universal nature of spiritual awakenings and near-death experiences.
Natalie’s Bio:
Natalie is the sole creator behind every handmade piece at Sidhe Readings & Channelled Art, and is the host of Tales from the Truth Seekers podcast. After walking through the world as somewhat of a cynic for many years, Natalie found herself deeply humbled by a quite sudden and profound state of "non-ego" in 2014. This 48-hour period initiated her into a life-long spiritual journey. While on this path, Natalie has discovered that unique, first-hand, spiritual experience can threaten rigid belief systems of religious, secular, and New Age people alike. Because of this, she is dedicated to empowering people to look within for the security they seek and to release complete dependency on blind belief or external systems to guide them. Over the past ten years, Natalie has been certified in MindfulSchools, Reiki Level 2, and has graduated from the Spiritual Guidance Mentorship program at Edgar Cayce’s Atlantic University. Natalie is also an ordained Avalon Rose Priestess through the Avalon Rose Chapel in Glastonbury, England. In the muggle world, Natalie is an actress, singer, dancer, choreographer, director, and playwright. She holds a B.A. in musical theatre performance, an M.A. in theatre education, was a high school theatre director for seven years, and is passionate about the connection between spirituality, mental health, and the arts, and the powerful healing effects that they can have, especially for disadvantaged youth.
