Your body will scream at you. That does not mean you have to obey it. On this episode of Talk About It with Franjez, I sit down with Jonah, 18 years old and fresh off his amateur Muay Thai debut win at RFC Fight Night. Born in Germany, raised in Canada and China, now training in White Plains. He walked in with broken toes and a lot of honesty. Jonah breaks down exactly what it takes to cut from 170 to 145 pounds. Two gallons of water, then zero. No salt. Hours in a 220 degree sauna in three layers of clothes. He describes lying awake at night with one word on repeat in his head. Drink. That is the mind in survival mode. Most people never sit long enough with that voice to see it is just a voice. He also admits something every fighter feels. Right before every fight he swears it is his last one. Then he wins, and the mind resets like it never happened. Watching that loop is the beginning of real awareness. We cover his journey from pro Fortnite player to bodybuilder to fighter, why the pay in fighting is broken, faith, school, and his upcoming trip to Thailand to fight in the birthplace of Muay Thai.
Watch the full conversation on YouTube. Then notice the next time your mind says “never again.” Watch what it does after.

Most of us are not tired. We are overstimulated, and we have forgotten what quiet feels like. On this episode of Talk About It with Franjez, I sit down with Thays Barao, founder of the Buzzley app, and Jackie Giraldo, luxury development consultant, singer and soon to be podcast host. October is Women’s Small Business Month, and these two women built their lives from the ground up as first generation kids in New York. We talk about why everyone grabs their phone the second a conversation slows down. Tai deleted Instagram for two years and found out the addiction just moved somewhere else. That is what happens when you remove the distraction but never sit with what is underneath it. The real work starts when you stop running. We get into faith, religion and control, divorce and finding your voice again, raising kids with perspective, and how Tai turned a list of ideas written on Thanksgiving into a real app. Jackie shares the mindfulness exercise with a single piece of chocolate that will change how you eat today. Slow down. Watch the full conversation here on YouTube. Then try the chocolate exercise and tell me in the comments what you noticed.

On Talk About It with Franjez, recorded in Tulum, Mexico, he explains how he learned to tell his body apart from his mind. He also covers why comfort makes us weaker, how social media programs what we believe, and how meditation helps you face the thing you keep avoiding. Episode 168 of Talk About It with Franjez was filmed inside ByrdCage in Atlantic City, New Jersey, with Atlantic City born content creator and media personality Whitney Ullman aka @GoToWhitney, alongside ByrdCage owners Giulietta Consalvo and Richard Helfant. We went far beyond food and nightlife. We talked about the Atlantic City most people never hear about: the city’s history before the casinos, the legendary Boardwalk, the first casino, Resorts International, Steel Pier, salt water taffy, Frank Sinatra, Boardwalk Hall and the people and businesses that helped shape Atlantic City into what it is today. We also explored a fascinating part of Atlantic City’s LGBTQ history. Long before casino gambling transformed the city, Atlantic City had a thriving LGBTQ nightlife and community. Over time, many of those independent spaces disappeared. ByrdCage represents a new chapter, opening as Atlantic City’s first full-service LGBTQ+ bar and restaurant in roughly two decades. Giulietta Consalvo, Richard Helfant and Jason Tell built ByrdCage around hospitality, entertainment, food and community, while Whitney Ullman brings more than 20 years of media experience and a deep connection to Atlantic City. This conversation is about food, nightlife, LGBTQ history, Atlantic City history, entrepreneurship, community and the people keeping the city’s personality alive. This is Atlantic City beyond the casinos.
