36 years ago, 14 friends got together in the triad to talk about an emerging health crisis. A number of their friends had HIV or AIDS. Healthcare and support were hard to find. Juneteenth is an annual holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Greensboro will commemorate the event with a celebration June 16 - 19. World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to celebrate the strength and courage of refugees who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. The City of Greensboro’s Human Rights Department and the Culture Crew Employee Resource Group or ERG, teamed up for a diaper and toiletry collection that ended recently.
