Hey Mr. Peterson, what you did was wrong

Recording in July 2023. Took a while to post because we chased the episode with our Typical Saturday Night Muscle Relaxer and got caught up trying to get a sense of our own butts.

We’ve got rough waters ahead on this one, as the father-son fishing trip framework provides context for the insecurities that have defined our hero Pacey. Typically clueless Dawson fails to recognize the abuse his friends have experienced, focusing instead on Mitch’s struggles with Peter Pan syndrome. Though generally a lovable hunk of meat in Dawson’s orbit, in this episode even we must take exception with Mitch’s serial passivity. The women of this world have gathered to create what will undoubtedly be the most important news package ever filmed, as Jen assists Gale in telling the story of “Teenage Girls as the New Consumer Phenomenon.” This predictably goes nowhere, as Joey locks up and Andi just wants to eat snacks and watch a little parody porn. Once Abby takes the Chapelle soapbox and gets herself ejected from the discourse, we get another step toward healing for our core trio, and Gale realizes that she can be the parent we need all of them to have.

A belated but necessary tribute: We recorded this the day before Angela Lansbury passed. RIP to the Queen, whose iconic work was the inspiration for this DC episode. By her capable digits, a typewritten mystery of this virginity lost would require no White-Out.



Our Blondes v. Brunettes Debate comes in Hot! Thankfully chilled by this episode’s rain motif, we roll directly into assessing the quality of our Heroes’ class projects. Following up on a cliffhanger, we must wonder which of our couples finally sealed the deal. Our Favorite Imp, Abby Morgan, leads the charge by harassing her friends into admitting some private details. While none seems to be a romance for the ages, as our trio of duos turns against itself, once more we find hurt feelings are as mandatory as a Capeside book fair.

Dawson’s art fails to electrify on stage, while his muse Lil Joey Potter must witness the most analog of forms in the pursuit of her craft. Pacey deploys the element of surprise in order to woo Andi, whose expectations skew proto-cheugy, but in execution are no match for our old friend Prescription Narcotics.

Welcome back! There's so much stuff of suspect origin on which to chow!

Dawson gets good news, the confidence from which he obviously parlays into forcing expectations on friends and family alike.

Pacey is in deep with School, but lucky for him he’s got a type A partner in Andi, who seems to be on some sort of campaign trail. Maybe it’s a spoiler, or maybe just a woman talking loudly is shocking for the TD2Me system... Thankfully, by the end of this episode we see this power couple rising above the din of the Capeside gapers.

Local jerk-off Chris Wolf is still around... A primary partner in Jen’s new hobbies, this thread leads us to the barfed-upon fence of righteousness.

Jack gives us a peak behind the hot dog cart, wooing Joey in the most mild way… that might just be enough for her?

What happens next? Will we Freak? Or will we get Fascinated?

We frequently say “I Mean, Yeah…”, which should indicate how often we’re on the same page, but still you’ll see how much we don’t remember! We’ve got a long one here to test your own ability to recall our goofs… Prepare your Mind Palace for several centuries of Anglo Literature and strap in!

New Prick Mr. Peterson challenges our Heroes with an impossible Midterm task, which propels a classic night within which attempts at study and attempts at hooking up collide. Andi's copy of Jane Magazine provides the most telling test, however, bringing all hope of study to a halt. Question #16 turns our team on its head, offering all a bit of time to work out several semesters' worth of sexual tension. Somehow satellite TV and a backyard pool forgive all sins... If you're ready to crash, let's just meet up on the 50 yard line…

The rate of our recording seems to be keeping in stride with the pulse of certain matriculants of Capeside High. An unexpected guest star muddies the waters for several of our key players, while others embrace the inevitable. Gale & Manmeat reach a point of resolution as Dawson & Joey come to terms with the scope of their relationship. Jenn & Abby are in conflict once again, though each seems to settle in a position deemed functional. Jack, well... damn. Pacey & Andi are put to the test, and at least according to the show all is hunky dory... After this episode it seems there's a lot more coming-home to do than could be established with the annual dance, but there's pointedly one less method of ingress available...

A strong wind has blown your favorite podcast back to your feed like so many stray hairs on your Capeside favorites! The Full Moon is working its gravitational pull on the water of all heroes in town, so it follows that our newfound pyromaniac Tamara is headed for the hills. Pacey prompts a very strange discussion of teens and pornography, though his probing is ultimately cathartic, bringing us deeper into the Andi-verse. Jen & Abby once again battle over the subtext in attracting Dock-ter Vincent Gross-Man(yuck!), and while we learn nothing of their friendship from this Ep, we get some solid advice from Grams. Manmeat and Gale get down to brass tacks as a couple, as Dawson learns the meaning of "Thursday" by the number of wine glasses fetched. Joey and Jack are the Moon's primary target, sweeping them up in the push-and-pull of illumination and hard currency. All we have left is to look to the sky, close our eyes, and then decide what the heck it is was we just saw.

So maybe listening to TD2Me is your life’s passion, and we’re treating it like more of a hobby… typically Dawson of us…



Even after a 2.5 month hiatus the Joey/Dawson thing is barely understandable to us, and already the foundations are less reliable than Jack’s dishwashing chops. Jen & Abby are making big moves down at the docks, their typical sailor’s discourse taking on new meaning and challenging their friendship to distinguish itself from a hole in the wall. In our featured storyline, Pacey’s choice between new flirtation Andie and returning ephebophile Tamara should be clear, but his decision making prowess leaves much to be left unsaid. Ms. Jacobs & Manmeat, however, win Steamy Discourse of the Year as they awkwardly exchange accusations of scandal in what could one day become the greatest aquatic-themed restaurant on the East Coast.

Let us be unlike an abstract expressionist painting in our resolve to do this podcast more often. May our love for you feel as profound and thoroughly researched as Jack’s love for Jarvis.
