A bit exhausted from talking about the usual Twitter discourse, we thought it would be good to destress by taking one episode to talk about something cute and ended up choosing Bon Voyage, BTS's iconic travel series where they pick a country, fly there, and get into all sorts of hijinks as their camera crew just watches idly. Since each season of Bon Voyage is so jam-packed, we mainly just talked about the first season, but we had loads of fun and ended up sharing some of our own travel stories as well. What exactly is “K-pop” and why is there so much argument about whether or not it’s good or bad? We discuss its origins and why there is growing dislike of using “K-pop” as a genre of music. This is not an argument for whether BTS is or isn’t K-pop, but a dialogue on how we as a society have been classifying musical genres inappropriately.
