▶ Episode #9: In Conversation with Alex Vince from Animal Liberation NSW.
Animal rights activists are fighting multiple animal rights issues across the globe. Trillions of animals are being exploited for food, clothing, entertainment, experimentation, and companionship. In addition to this, thousands of animals are being hunted, simply for trying to survive.
Today we chat to Animal Rights Advocate, Alex Vince who has worked on issues ranging from the state-sanctioned slaughter of wildlife to the cruelties inherent in animal agribusiness. Based in Sydney, he is the campaign director at Animal Liberation NSW and is co-founder of the Coalition of Australians Against 1080 Poison. He is a dedicated abolitionist and proud friend to all animals.
In this episode we’re going to discuss how in the modern Western world, animals are vanishing at an extremely alarming pace. We know primarily of their disappearance via news media articles announcing the latest in a long line of extinctions, but what becomes of those erased from our consciousness? Alex is here to help us understand the force behind the words we speak, the mechanisms that perpetuate and propagate it, and apply new understandings of the power of language to question and critique current critical examples of humankind's habits of nonhuman animals. From nicknames that signal the diminished livelihoods of “pest” species, to the ongoing commercial exploitation of farmed animals, the excavation of the English language aims to fracture common-sense assumptions and foster a more inclusive and kinder worldview.

▶ In Conversation with Veterinarian, Dr Alistair Brown: Episode # 2
Animal health is Alistair Brown’s lifelong passion. Since he graduated as a vet from Murdoch University in 1987 he’s had a wide experience caring for animals. From pets to wildlife and from supervising animal ethics to farmed fish, he’s done it all. After graduation he spent a decade in the UK with animals and fish until he returned to Australia to work in aquaculture and nutrition in Victoria. As the one of the most experienced aquaculture vets in the Southern Hemisphere, he found himself is demand well beyond our shores, but he still found time to administer the vaccinations and veterinary appraisals for Trophy Pet Care as well as volunteer for wildlife rescue. Then, for a break from the corporate world Alistair bought the Trophy Pet Care business in 2015.
In this podcast, we pick Dr. Brown's brain on Summer Dangers to our beloved Pet's and tips on keeping them safe coming to the warmer months.
