Long time Silicon Valley technology and startup veteran, Paul O’Brien is known as SEO’Brien for his extensive past in the search industry. Now Texan, O’Brien works in Venture Capital Economic Development, serving the investment and venture capital economies directly, through thought leadership, consulting, and startup development. He’s the founder of MediaTech Ventures, a founder and managing director of Funded House, and Director in Founder Institute.  

Notably, O’Brien is a seasoned marketer with an early career at Yahoo! and HP. From there he led the early growth of startups such as Outright.com (Acquired by GoDaddy), Zvents (Acquired by eBay’s Stubhub), and MicroVentures (Venture Capital). With technical expertise, O’Brien has consulted with various web properties, designed and developed sites, online communities, e-commerce stores, and web services. In today's episode, I sat down with Mike O'Krent! 

Mike O’Krent is the founder of LifeStories Alive, LLC. The company specializes in making personal history videos for families that value their heritage. They create family heirlooms in video format – digitally mastered records of life stories with personal accounts, photos and mementos of family history.  

He was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Marketing and Management. He entered my family’s retail floor covering business as the 4th generation to be part of that business.  

Between 1996 and 2000 he interviewed Holocaust survivors for Steven Spielberg’s Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation. During that incredible experience, he discovered the process and the importance of recording the life stories of our loved ones.   

He moved to Austin in 1998 when he bought and managed a local floor covering business; which he then sold in 2004. He founded LifeStories Alive at the end of 2005.

Hello everyone and welcome to our beginning episode of the Talk2Rami "Founders Series" Podcast!   In this episode, we sat down with Alex Door, the Founder of Mushroom Revival. Mushroom Revival is a mushroom based CPG brand and the creators of incredible mushroom nootropics!  As I started our conversation, Alex explained the inspiration behind creating a brand all about mushrooms and their various types. There are really so many different categories of mushrooms, even I am surprised!  We also touched on the overall business experience of owning and operating a CPG brand, and the challenges the company had to overcome during the past 2 and half years.

Today, I got the chance to sit down and chat with my dear friend for many years, Zafar Choudhury. He currently holds the position of Senior Engineering Recruiter at Microsoft, and has been in the recruiting industry for nearly two decades now. He wanted to share some insight about his experiences — because if anybody knows the hiring process like the back of their hand, it's Zafar.
