Episode 2 and we are already diving deep into European geopolitics! Seems like just last week we were talking about some silly birds. This episode genuinely means a lot to me to be able to make. I feel such appreciation for what Hungary went through during the 1956 Revolution and I hope in a small way I've done them justice. This episode covers more than just the events of 1956, but also the previous revolutions that laid the path and set the foundation that made '56 possible. I had to whittle down what I talked about quite a bit so if you have questions about more of what happened let me know!
Have you ever seen an Emu and thought, "Wow now that is a finely tuned machine of war!"? Well you're in luck! They actually are 1-0 against us when it comes to actual battlefield combat. I wasn't sure where to talk about it in the episode but once you're done listening, be sure to check out "Letters from the Emu War" by J A Bryden. It's a work of historical fiction that details the events of the Emu war from the perspective of the Emus and I think that's hilarious.
