  • Episode 249 - Top 10 TV Shows 2024

And with that, the 2024 recaps are complete! I know it's in our title header, but this was a WEIRD year for TV to say the least. Especially because it felt like for our top 10's, it was more like we were justifying their places on the list rather than praising them. The strikes hit hard this year, and TV's always been more of a personal medium than film. So with that being said, here are our Top 10 Favorite shows of 2024! Be sure to keep coming back for more only on the #talkintvpodcast

  • Talkin' Lost Episode 20 - The Greater Good

We're almost to the finish line! The first one, at least. Our third to last episode for Season 1, The Greater Good, follows the fall out from Boone's death. Jack is on the brink of exhaustion and passing out, Locke confesses, Shannon doesn't believe him, and Sayid is put in a tough situation, causing him to flash back to his post war days, being contracted by the CIA to infiltrate a terrorist plot that a friend of his is involved in. Also, Charlie calms baby Aaron down with the sound of Sawyer's voice. It's all coming to a head in the final couple episodes as we begin to wrap Season 1 of #talkinlost

  • Talkin' Lost Episode 19 - Do No Harm

We're getting closer and closer to the end of the run, and just when I thought we had the best episode of the season so far, we've got another one. Do No Harm, a crucially important episode for a lot of different reasons, but namely that we witness the first major character departure on the show: Boone Carlyle, portrayed by Ian Somerhalder. The episode features around Jack attempting to save his life after his major injuries in the previous episode, while Claire conveniently also goes into labor, which Kate finds herself having to deal with. It's only getting crazier each week as we get nearer to the Season 1 Finale of #talkinlost

BOOM! That's right, surprise episode. Right at the end of the week too. In fairness, this was supposed to be right before the Oscar nominations dropped, but now all of LA is on fire, so they got delayed to next week. Dom is joined by his team of Oscar's experts, comprised of Kristen, Dustin, Nathaniel and channel newcomer Justin Jaeger aka Brother Bro of the Oscar Expert Channel! They break down the two screenplay categories, supporting actor & actress, actress, actor, director and finally, the big prize itself, Best Picture. • Episode 247 - Top 10 Worst Movies of 2024

Wow we haven't done one of these in awhile. The next in our 2024 year end wrap lists, and we're doing a worst of list. The last time I did one of these was for 2021. But a special kind a year requires a special kind of list. Dom is joined by Luk, Kristen & Mac, newly engaged, to break down the suckiest of the suck, the absolute worst that 2024 movies had to offer, and boy were there some stinkers. The infamous Sony trinity of shit that officially killed off their cinematic Spider-Man efforts for good, Matthew Vaughn's failed attempt to make a Kingsman spinoff (sort of), Red One, Rebel Moon Part 2, some truly awful entries in the horror genre, and some that nobody had even heard of. It's another eventful list right here on the #talkintvpodcast

  • Episode 246 - Top 10 Movies of the 2020's (so far) (Season 7 Premiere)

Holy shit. Here we are. 7 seasons. 2025. New year, new rules. How are we actually here. I have this theory that everytime we enter a new year, we enter a new dimension. But we are somehow 5 years post Covid, which means that we are halfway through the 2020's as a decade, which means that it's time to count down our ten favorite movies of the decade so far! Dom is joined by Kristen, Luk, Dustin & a returning face, Sean of Math Teacher Movies! They all break down their ten favorite movies from the decade up to this point. It's going to be a jam packed year as we once again say #watchmoremovies on the #officialtalkintvpodcast

  • Episode 245 - Nosferatu + A Complete Unknown Double Feature (Season 6 Finale)

Alright people! This is it! The last podcast of the year! And we're actually doing not just one, but two movies! Hard as it tried, 2024 did not completely ruin movies for me. Like any year would. It tried its best, but thankfully, we had two bangers to end the year on, with James Mangold's Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothee Chalamet "A Complete Unknown" and Robert Eggers remake of a true film classic, "Nosferatu." These two films could not be further apart in genre, tone, subject matter, what have you, so naturally they make the perfect double feature to end the year on. We'll see you guys in 2025, and as always people, 12 seasons and a short film.

  • Talkin' Lost Episode 17 - Numbers + Superman Teaser

Alright people! The year is almost wrapped (thank god) and we're coming down to the wire! We're taking the week off from Lost next week, and what an episode to wrap our 2024 run on. Not only the best episode this season, but another crucially important episode in the Lost lore, Numbers! Those infamous pesky numbers that all Lost heads are familiar with, as well as cursing poor Hurley, our focus character of the episode, and setting him on his path to the island. What do they mean? Are they actually important, or simply just a warning to everyone who gets near the island? Tune in to find out! We also talk about the Superman teaser that dropped this past week. Be sure to tune in to new episodes every week as we get ready to say goodbye to 2024 and hello to 2025 (five years since Covid, holy shit) only on the #talkintvpodcast
