Author Blair Fell joins me to talk all about his new novel Disco Witches of Fire Island. Before he talks about the inspiration behind his novel, Blair discusses his background as a TV writer for the iconic show Queer as Folk. You'll have to listen to find out why he won't be joining me for our Queer as Folk recap show.
Blair then turns to Disco Witches of Fire Island and shares how his personal experiences in the 1990s, including the AIDS crisis and his time as a bartender on Fire Island inspired the setting and themes of the novel. Blair discusses how his novel explores themes of grief, loss of community, and the search for magic and spirituality in the face of darkness.
