Logan is 16 years old and lives in Carlsbad, California and is beautiful proof that a bit of challenge can build wisdom and empathy. Logan and I talk about being a teen with Alopecia and how that journey has effected him and the way he views people around him - including becoming best friends with one of his old 'bullies'. We touch on the drug issues at schools and doing/being your own thing. We explore how his life experiences are impacting the future he wants to pursue for himself - a Forest Firefighter.

Episode 3. Hailey Asmus - moving to a big school, life on the ranch and living with Alopecia Areata

Hailey is 14 years old and recently she has been living a life that seems like it came right out of a movie I once watched when I as her age. Her family moved from California to a ranch in a small town in Arizona during the pandemic to look after her grandpa. (she now looks after Llamas, Alpacas, bunnies and goats) As an introvert with three very extroverted younger siblings and two very extroverted parents Hailey is challenged every day to find her on way and time to be her. And just for more fun Hailey has aggressive Alopecia Areata - she looses her hair like me - and just started at a big new school where she has to tell that story and deal with all the questions all over again. She is such an incredible young woman - I am so proud to call her a friend.

Zola Cruz is 12 years old, he was born in Uganda and moved to Hollywood two years ago where he now lives, studies and works. His journey has been a very different one to most young people. He has always smiled and laughed through all the challenges and alwaya focuses on the positives. He shares his experience doing everythig online - friendships, education, socializing and is vulenrable about his dream to be a singer and the roadblocks put in his way. Nathen is 14 years old and in his young life he has been through a traumtic homelife, severe bullying at school including serious false accusations against him, suicide ideation and the hard path towards true forgiveness.
