Today we’re diving into a topic that I think a lot of us have mixed feelings about — being ‘showy.’
Last summer, someone actually called me a show off, and honestly, I almost let those words shrink me. I’ve always thought of myself as pretty humble, so it caught me off guard. The funny thing is, in the exact moment she was talking about, I actually felt really uncomfortable and awkward — the opposite of what you’d think a ‘show off’ feels like.
That got me thinking… how many of us judge others as being ‘too much,’ when deep down, it’s actually about our own stuff? Maybe we wish we had more confidence, or maybe we’re afraid of being seen ourselves.
So today, I’m sitting down with Julia White to unpack this idea of being showy. Is it confidence? Is it projection? Is it just someone seeking validation? And more importantly — how do we move past the fear of being judged so we can show up fully as ourselves?
