WA Food Ambassador Don Hancey joins Tony McManus to talk WA food news and up and coming foodie events. 

Doriana Mangili from Sweeter Banana Co-op in Carnarvon and the Gascoyne Food Council joined Don and Tony as their special guest and said that it is shaping up to be a great season in Carnarvon despite the recent floods. Doriana said that bananas love rain and humidity and are growing like crazy.  Carnarvon grows around 10-20% of the bananas consumed in WA. 

Sweeter Banana has just received a grant from the State Government to implement a value adding facility in Carnarvon to do some processing with bananas that would be waste. At the moment all processed bananas (frozen and puree) coming into WA are imported.
