    In July our latest Impact Report (2025–2026) was published showcasing how we are supporting the NHS to improve patient outcomes, and accelerate the adoption of innovation across the East Midlands and beyond.

    The report outlines how HIEM continues to play a vital role as part of England’s Health Innovation Network, helping health and care organisations to identify, test and scale innovative solutions to meet some of the NHS’s most pressing challenges.

  • 4: Reimagining Risk: A whole system opportunity
    This episode explores research from the Midlands Clinical Senate examining how risk is perceived and managed across individual, organisational and system levels.

    This research project aimed to review the concept of risk in systems (actual and perceived), who owns risks and at what levels, the impact it has on service delivery and how this could be reimagined from a system perspective instead of organisational perspective to improve patient flow and experience.
