Mike pays a visit to the second Story Chest Arts Project session being held in Sharples Hall Activity Centre. This is a project led and funded by The Blackpool Grand Theatre. They have kindly provided the services of Helena Ainscough, an actress, director and creator from St Annes, who was born with a sight issue.

Mike talks with Amanda about Low vision Awareness and they discuss topics such as AMD, the reasons for sight loss and free self referrals to the Low Vision Centre in Blackpool for people aged 0-24 

Luke takes time out from his busy schedule with the Green Doctors joins Mike and Amanda and shares his top 5 tips to help save you money and keep warm . 

In this episode, Luke talks about how you can keep warm, even just by turning the temperature down just by 1 degree! He also lets us know which gadgets our most cost effective for the kitchen for heating food and share a unique story about a a shower and a toilet!

Local authorities on the Fylde Coast are being given new powers to stamp out unnecessary obstruction of pavements, such as cars parked creating obstacles for people with low vision and those with mobility issues.

This is part of the Government's ‘Take Back Our Streets’ and ‘Break Down Barriers to Opportunity’ missions. It follows on from a consultation which uncovered that 41% of the public would go out more if pavements were less hazardous!

Decisions on when to clamp down were left to local councils, rather than a 'blanket ban' on obstruction, due to the necessity for some motorists to park partly on pavements outside their home.
