Santee Cooper is South Carolina’s public power and water utility, the state’s largest power provider, and the ultimate source of electricity for approximately 2 million people.

"We've had at least 500 different professionals, working engineers and scientists on the front end. And you know, a tremendous number, hundreds of contractors, folks working on the back end, actually doing it, the work. And then there will be more. So we estimate about 1300 jobs will be created through the whole, kind of from here to the end of Carolina Crossroads, as it's built with about an $860 million influx to the local economy."
