The creation of a Public Safety Advisory Board (PSAB) grew from community input and Council discussion in response to the killing of George Floyd. For the last 18 months, this limited-duration Board met twice a month to review the city's public safety practices.

PSAB members Emilio Calderon and Valerie Sasaki reflect on the board's work and provide insight into the development of the eight recommendations presented to Council. You'll also hear about the challenges faced by the board in tackling difficult, complex issues.

The Hero Up for Children's Cancer 5K in Tigard was created ten years ago in honor of children battling cancer and in honor of children who have passed away from the disease. 

Darcee Burnett, President of Hero Up for Children's Cancer, shares the story of her son, Keith, who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at the age of 3. After enduring the unimaginable for 19 months, he ultimately succumbed to the disease. She also talks about this year's race and how you can support children battling cancer.
