The COVID-19 outbreak has prompted a lot of changes to daily life. It’s stressful enough for adults, but for kids, this time can be especially confusing and scary. On this episode, Carousel discusses strategies for talking to your kids about coronavirus with professor Travis Wright. He offers advice about intentional parenting for both young children and teenagers during this time of home isolation and heightened public anxiety.

Travis Wright is an associate professor of counseling psychology in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His research focuses on early childhood education, schooling in highly-stressed communities, and teaching students who have experienced trauma. He is the founder and director of BASES Project, a school and community-based intervention for homeless preschool students, their families, and teachers.
