Ebony Acton’s enterprising spirit has
allowed her to chameleon as an activist,
beauty consultant, confidence coach,
entrepreneur, model, spiritual/mental health
advocate, and self-published author. Her
founding philanthropic advancements
highlight how home insecurities are
contributing factors in the school-to-prison
pipeline. This inspired her to create the Bold
‘n’ Bookish Campaign in 2021.
Her career in pageants began when she won
Miss Virginia State University 2016-2017.
She pursued her pageant career by winning
Miss District of Columbia for America
Strong 2021 as Most Congenial, Photogenic
and Most Whimsical National Costume; top
12 Miss DC USA 2022 and Miss
Congeniality; top 12 Miss DC USA 2023
and Community Service Award Winner.
Ultimately, she is the current Miss Summit
United States 2024. In July 2024, she will
compete for the international title in the
Overcoming home insecurities like
homelessness, impoverished neighborhoods,
domestic violence, molestation, bullying,
and discrimination taught her the importance
of resilience. Our ugly environments and
circumstances are not to keep us down in the
mud, but to sprout up tall above it all.
Among many community initiatives, her
favorite memories include: participating in a
motivational session for the U.S.
Taekwondo Academy; crowning young girls
to princesses for a day; partnering with Judy
Makes Juices to fundraise funds for
humanitarian organizations; traveling to
Zambia, Africa for a missions trip for well
installations; partnering with She Is
Incorporated’s She Is Prom for teenage
moms; virtually, participating in Stand Up
for Kids’ Annual 5K National Race to End
Youth Homelessness, and supporting
Haymakers for Hope Beltway Brawl’s
funding cancer cure research.
