In the fifty-eighth episode of “Talking with T-Bird,” Rob and T-Bird’s welcome Survivor: Marquesas castaway, Tammy Leitner!

A key member of the Rotu, the dominant tribe of her season, Tammy successfully survived the first 9 days, thanks to her tribe’s winning streak and her under-the-radar gameplay. After a swap shook up the game, Tammy and three of her former Rotu members formed the Rotu 4, a memorable alliance credited with the vote out of Boston Rob at the merge. Tammy won back to back individual immunities, but couldn’t keep the streak up and was voted out at the first opportunity. She is remembered for a scathing speech at final tribal council, criticizing the final two.

In her personal life, Tammy is a hard-nosed reporter, winning many awards for her investigative work.

In the fifty-sixth episode of “Talking with T-Bird,” Rob and T-Bird’s welcome the winner of Survivor: The Amazon, Jenna Morasca! 

Two-time Survivor player Jenna Morasca started her Survivor journey in The Amazon, the show’s 6th season. Starting on the Jaburu tribe, made up of only women, Jenna began to make relationships with some of the younger women like Christy, Deena and her strongest ally, Heidi. Her alliance kept her safe through the first few rounds of the game, until a curveball tribe swap mixed up the men and women and Jenna was forced to find new allies. She aligned with Matthew von Ertfelda, who would eventually become the runner-up to her Sole Survivor, and a man you may have heard of before: Rob Cesternino. Post-merge, their alliance worked well until Rob betrayed the group, infuriating Jenna and causing her to create a final two deal with Matt. Three individual immunity wins, including the Final Immunity Challenge, gave Jenna the edge she needed to make it to the Finals, where she beat Matt in a 6 to 1 vote to become Sole Survivor.

Jenna returned for the 8th season, Survivor: All-Stars but left early in the game due to her mother’s failing health.

In the fifty-fifth episode of “Talking with T-Bird,” Rob and T-Bird’s welcome the lovely couple from Survivor: San Juan del Sur, Jeremy & Val Collins. 

Jeremy and Val’s Survivor adventure began with a bang, as minutes after they were placed on opposing tribes, they found themselves pitted against each other in the first Duel Reward Challenge of the season. Val’s loss led to her exile, where she was granted a clue to the immunity idol. Although she lost an ally, Val made it through the first tribal council, only to run into trouble when she bluffed to have found two idols. When she was unable to produce at the next tribal council, the tribe decided to eliminate Val on the re-vote, finishing in 17th place.

Jeremy was a physical and strategic threat in San Juan del Sur, helping his tribe to five out of six pre-merge immunity challenges. When he made the first strike at merge and sent strategic rival Josh to jury, the rest of the merge tribe realized his major threat potential, and Jeremy was voted out in 10th place.

Outside of Survivor, Jeremy and Val’s greatest joy is raising their four beautiful children together.

In the fifty-fourth episode of “Talking with T-Bird,” Rob and T-Bird’s guest is 4th place finisher on Survivor: China, Denise Martin.

Denise Martin, the lunch lady from Massachusetts, was thrilled and awed to be in a Chinese temple at the beginning of her Survivor journey. She never lost that awe as she continued through the game, thoroughly appreciative of where she was lucky enough to be. Placed on the Fei Long tribe, Denise made friends and wasn’t considered a threat. A lot of Denise’s game ended up being influenced by food – making allies or enemies based on picks for reward challenges, her inability to swallow the balut to help her team win a challenge, twice. Her alliances and friendships were able to get her to the final four, where she lost the final immunity challenge and was voted out 3-1. As highlighted in Survivor: China, Denise has a passion for karate. She is a second degree black belt in American Kenpo Karate and owns a karate school, and has one hell of a story about kicking Jeff Probst’s ass.

In the fifty-third episode of “Talking with T-Bird,” Rob and T-Bird’s guest is 5th place finisher on Survivor: Palau, Caryn Groedel.

Caryn’s journey on Survivor began on the dominant Koror tribe, where she was selected in a schoolyard pick. Although she was outside the majority alliance on Koror and was not vital to challenge success, Caryn was safe as her tribe went on to win every tribal immunity challenge that season. In lieu of a traditional merge, Stephanie, the final remaining member of the Ulong tribe was absorbed into Koror, and the individual phase of the game began. She found herself in a much better position and found trust in eventual season winner Tom Westman. After being involved in the blindside of Ian, Caryn found herself in the crosshairs and was voted out of the game on Day 36. In her personal life, Caryn is a lawyer and lives in Ohio with her husband and three daughters.

Jan’s Survivor career began with a big responsibility: as eldest female, she was charged with choosing the members of the Chuay Ghan tribe. Although she was criticized for choosing the older and perceived weaker castaways, it may have been that early game decision that resulted in her lasting in the game until day 38. A kooky, offbeat character, Jan both mystified and entertained her tribe. Perhaps most memorable was the pet cemetery she established on Chuay Ghan beach, best retold in Mario Lanza’s Funny 115 article. Jan’s non-threatening air had her protected until the Final Immunity Challenge, where season winner Brian Heidik decided to send her to jury as he felt she was very well-liked and he had a better chance against Clay Jordan. T-Bird and Rob are thrilled to catch up with Jan 20 years after her Survivor debut.

In the fifty-first episode of “Talking with T-Bird,” Rob and T-Bird’s guest is 13th place finisher on Survivor: One World, and 19th place finisher on Survivor: Blood vs Water, Colton Cumbie.

Colton’s Survivor journey began on the all-male Manono tribe has a result of the men vs women twist on Surivor: One World. Although he found it difficult to relate to the men, he rejoiced in the twist that had both men and women tribes living on one beach, and quickly bonded with the women. He was gifted an immunity idol on Day 4 from Sabrina Thompson, and he soon formed the Misfit Alliance with Troyzan, Leif, Jonas and Tarzan in order to compete with the stronger men of the tribe. Colton’s ego and attitude caused problems within both tribes, but he survived through a tribe swap and a few tribal councils before fateful Day 16. Colton began by complaining of a headache, eventually collapsing and choosing to leave the game due to acute appendicitis. His decision to take his idol out of the game as a souvenir rather than pass it along to an ally was met with controversy.

Colton was asked to return for Survivor: Blood vs Water with his boyfriend Caleb Bankston. When the casting twist placed them on opposite tribes, Colton was once again an outcast on his tribe and was deeply disappointed to be separated from his loved one. On Day 7, when his tribe, Galang, went to Redemption Island to view the duel, Colton announced he was quitting the game as he felt it was unwinnable for him, he had no positive relationships with his team, and being apart from his boyfriend Caleb was too much.

Colton is one of the most controversial and memorable contestants in Survivor history. Despite his contentious seasons of Survivor, Colton has experienced a life time in his short 31 years on Earth. In addition to being the recipient of much online bullying due to his Survivor career, in 2014, his partner in Survivor and life, Caleb Bankston was tragically killed in a work accident. In the fiftieth episode of “Talking with T-Bird,” Rob and T-Bird’s guest is 5th place finisher from Survivor: Samoa, Jaison Robinson.

Jaison started his Survivor: Samoa journey on the Foa Foa Tribe. Nearly voted tribe leader, losing by just one vote to future ally Mick, Jaison was well-liked by his tribe early on. Despite being on the wrong end of Russel Hantz’ infamous sock-burning sabotage, the two agreed to work together in the game. The Foa Foa tribe struggled in the pre-merge portion of the game, and entered the merge with only four players to Galu’s eight. Those remaining four became the Foa Foa Four, consisting of Jaison, Russel Hantz, Mick Trimming and Natalie White, and were able to stick out the rest of the game, until on day 37 the final remaining member of the Galu tribe won immunity and forced the Foa Foa Four to turn against each other. Due to his strength, Jaison blindsided at the final five and became the eight member of the jury.

In the forty-ninth episode of “Talking with T-Bird,” Rob and T-Bird’s guest is 16th place finisher from Survivor: Panama, “Timber” Tina Scheer.

Although she only lasted three days on Survivor: Panama, Timber Tina has made a lasting impression on viewers. Starting the game on the Casaya tribe of older women, Tina was an instant stand-out. A workhorse and well-respected by her tribemates, Tina was an integral figure in the early days, helping her tribe start fire and build a livable shelter. However, Tina’s remarks at tribal council regarding the other womens’ lack of outdoorsy-ness ended her game early as the first person voted out of Survivor: Panama. Outside of her Survivor life, Timber Tina is founder of the “Chics with Axes,” a world-champion Lumberjill team.

In the forty-eighth episode of “Talking with T-Bird,” Rob and T-Bird’s guest is fourth place finisher from Survivor: Tocantins, Taj Johnson-George.

Tamara “Taj” Johnson George began the game on the Jalapao tribe, eventually forming one of the season’s strongest alliances, The Jalapao 3 along with Survivor Know-It-All Stephen Fishbach and the eventual winner of Survivor: Tocantins, J.T. Thomas. Well-liked for her bubbly personality, Taj was also able to set up a cross-tribe alliance on Exile Island. Although her alliances were strong, Stephen suspected she would take J.T. to the final two over him, and thus convinced J.T. that they must vote out Taj at the final four. Taj only played in one season of Survivor, yet remains one of the most likeable and memorable characters of the series’ 20+ year run.
