Marique Bartoldus served twenty years as an NYPD officer and then wrote a book "20 and Out" about her experiences. Joining the police force when 9/11 was fresh on everybody's minds, she served time in Transit and animal cruelty units as well as being a beat cop in her precinct in Queens. She shares anecdotes from her book - such as the time she was part of an undercover sting operation as a prostitute and the times that she was forced to draw her weapon in the line of duty. Marique tells her stories in an engaging and entertaining way even though the subject matter can be serious - she also can do a wide variety of accents!

Cryptozoology. Cryptids. Beans and Gaz take a look at the UK's history of "mythical" beasts. Are they mythical or are they just yet to be fully discovered and understood. The Loch Ness Monster and the Beast of Bodmin are the two most prevalent examples but England has a fine history of hell hounds too. We look at the truth behind them and consider whether Vampires and Werewolves have their place in our history too.
But it's TBR so there's our trademarked (it's not actually TD's, lawyers!) Leffe turn as we consider the place of Aliens, Time travellers and of course Inter-Stellar Travel.
NB : We should have had a guest for this episode but they were unfortunately unavailable at the last minute.
The opening music is "London Bayou" by Oscar Albis Rodrigues and the closing music is "BDS" by Lewis Pickford.

We are joined by former NYPD officer, Author and Podcaster Vic Ferrari to hear his experiences of September 11th, 2001 and the days that followed. We watched in shock as the world changed in front of our eyes on the TV screen - so to hear his first hand experience of hearing what his thoughts were on hearing that the planes had struck the towers... or what it was like arriving at Ground Zero and the strange way in which he got there. Vic is as frank as he always is and it was fascinating to hear his take and to see how he deals with the things that he has encountered.
We felt after hearing these tales that we should lighten the mood with some tales from his bibliography published... and yet to be published.

Guinness. It's synonymous with the word stout.... but is it the best and could we pick it out of a line up. 11% of beer sold in the UK is Guinness - so it's no wonder that a couple of beers have gone up against it recently. We blind taste test the classic Guinness and a couple of upstarts : Conor McGregor's Forged Irish Stout and BrewDog's Black Heart... and just for good measure, we see if we can spot the Guinness Zero too. We also rate them and pick our favourite whilst intermingling the conversation with facts, stories and conjecture. Finally, after seeing the Gonster (A Guinness and Monster cocktail) on the Guinness Community Facebook page -ahem, amongst other things- we give that a go to - is it Genius or a Monstrosity? The opening music is "London Bayou" by Oscar Albis Rodrigues and the closing music is "BDS" by Lewis Pickford. tallboyradio.com
