What really defines a person's blackness? OR... What does it mean to "act black"?
Are these questions answered by: the clothes that I wear; the food that I eat: or the music and activities I enjoy?
I am not one who subscribes to the idea that I can "do" anything to act more or less "black". I believe that if I, in my beautiful black skin am doing something, then the activity that I am engaging in is something that black people do and it's not me "acting white".
In part two of this three-part series, Baylor and I will each share a mix of 10-ish non-black TV shows/ movies that we enjoy (heavy on the ish cause we shared a lot more than 10 LOL). In no way am I saying that I don't/ shouldn't celebrate black people. However my hope is that, in this light-hearted way, I can shatter the misconception that black people only engage in certain activities.
