Tammy Greene is a psychotherapist and women's empowerment coach. She specializes in helping people release shame and guilt that has plagued them from painful life experiences. She helps clients heal, step into their power, own their truth and live authentically.
Guilt is something a person feels when he or she does something outside of their value system. Shame on the other hand is a case where people condemn the entire person and not just the behavior. People use guilt to help change the behavior but condemning someone is basically saying that there is nothing good with that person. That's the difference between guilt and shame. Shame in marriages is an emotional cancer because it sabotages relationships. It allows people to dock responsibilities and such people deflect and deny any accountability for their behaviors in a relationship.
