One of the shortest of the Psalms of Ascent has a lot to say about the goodness of unity.

This psalm of ascent reminded its singers of the importance of the great city of Jerusalem, how David had built it up, collected power and influence, and sought to make Yahweh’s name great among the nations. In their original worldview, Zion was the most important place in the universe. However, Zion ultimately pointed forward to Jesus. His death and resurrection provide salvation through repentance. Now, through the Holy Spirit, God’s eternal dwelling place is in us.

What should our response be to evil?

This week we are looking at Psalm 126 which is a song about God's work of restoration.

We continue our journey of ascent by looking at Psalm 125.

God is the only true source of strength and help. We rally around one another and help as we can, but we fail each other as often as we help. It’s just the way it is. Try as we may, we are not able to fully help in the way that is needed. Only God can offer true help, the redemption of our souls through the grace and mercy shown through the death and resurrection of Christ.

God is our helper. As we walk along the difficult journey of life, we can trust in the great love we have found and help others along the way.
