  • #7 Technology | Why is Pluto been removed from the list of planets? |

Malala loves to read books when she was little. But ever since the Taliban was in charge, they broadcasted every single day that “girls are not allowed to go to school.” Malala was not afraid at all, she stood up and said, “I have the right to receive education.” Then one day on the van to school, a Taliban warrior went to the van and shot at her. Malala was taken to the hospital in UK, many doctors fought to save her and there were boys and girls praying for her. Finally, she opened her eyes and smiled with a book in her hand. On her 16th birthday, she gave a speech in front of international leaders and said, “One child, one teacher, one book, one pen can change the world.”

✎ The Discussion Question From This Episode:

What’ a story about a place or thing in your community?

                        Summary:

A young boy spots a baby tree growing in the middle of a dusty path in his village. People pass by the path every day. To protect the baby tree, he decides to place rocks around it. As the tree grows bigger, the path around the tree becomes a lane, flowing like a river around the tree. Over time, the lane becomes a road, and a young man crossing the road with his children remembers the baby tree from long ago. By the time he is an old man, the tree has become a giant. The city traffic continues to rattle past, noisier and busier than ever, but sometimes the great tree works its magic and people just stop and listens.
