Once upon a time…
Say those four words and most of us will pull up a chair and eagerly anticipate what comes next. The brain is wired to love and enjoy stories.
Unfortunately, most of the stories we tell ourselves are harmful.
You walk into a room where two people are talking, and they stop. BOOM: enter made-up story.
"Are they talking about me?"
"What did I do?"
"I bet they know something I don't know…"
Or maybe your type of story is the one you create that happens in the future:
"If I don't land that client, we're sunk."
"How will I handle it if my mom doesn't make it?"
"My husband is going to cheat on me because I gained all this weight, I just know it."
Here's the problem: we communicate based on our stories. And this is a problem because most of our stories aren't true/never come true!
What wasted energy. If you want to TAP into your power you've got to get a hold of your stories and tell yourself some new ones.
In today's podcast Kevin and I talk about why stories are so dangerous and how to STOP.
