Dr. Nguyen Tran's professional expertise is electronic and communication engineering. He was a full professor at several universities in Australia, including the most well established RMIT University. He has been a lifelong practitioner of mind control yoga, a practice that he developed from his initial contact with the book called Hatha Yoga, written by Theodore Bernard.

Tran describes four types of breathwork. All are well-explained in his book, though concentrating on breath is nothing new; yoga emphasizes conscious breathing, and the seven focus points are similar to chakras.
