October 28, 2023Nigeria Tradition WeddingNigeria Tradition Wedding is colorful. Before the traditional wedding, clothing material are sold either by the bride or her family or the grooms (or his family). The material is generally call ase- obi. This material is sold mainly to friends or even well wishers of the wedding ceremony. General clothing material can be sold to the well wishers and a different material for the bride’s friend and the groom’s friend. Nigeria wedding is usually colourful with lots of food and drinks (depending on what can be afforded). The bride and groom can get financial support from family and well wishers. Although, it is expected that the groom cover the expenses of his marriage ceremony but the bride and her family can also support the traditional marriage financially. Family members can come together to plan the traditional wedding instead of event planner( although a small percent of Nigerians use event planners for their traditional wedding). Nigerians are happy and fun loving people. I hope my listeners get to experience a Nigeria traditional wedding ceremony.
