Tarot Visions

This week, Rose and Charlie speak with Benebell Wen, the author of the new (and gigantic) book Holistic Tarot: An Integrative Approach to Using Tarot for Personal Growth.

Benebell shares her Tarot Analysis process for exploring the cards in readings and talks about bringing this book to life. For more information about Benebell, visit her website. You can purchase Holistic Tarot on Amazon.

Can you learn to love those really unpleasant Tarot cards that give some people the shivers? Rose and Charlie take a look at a few of the cards that are thought of as negative and explore ways to deal with them in a reading without glossing over the problems they might indicate. They look
back at early meanings given to the cards and discuss how they have evolved in the modern era.

This episode is a doozy in terms of length but we think you will enjoy the ride because our guest has a lot to say for the reader who is ready to go pro. This week, Rose and Charlie spend some time with professional reader, tarot author, and podcast hostess Gina Thies.  Gina, who wears many hats incredibly well, shares her experiences and top tips for working as a phone reader, dealing with skeptics, reading about love, and how to provide the reading that will most benefit your clients.

You can learn more about Ms. Thies at her site http://www.tarotadvisor.com/

For reading about matters of the heart, you will want to check out her book Tarot Coupling  http://www.schifferbooks.com/tarot-coupling-resources-resolutions-for-relationship-readings-5342.html

And be sure to check out her podcast Oracle Soup here: http://oraclesoup.org/

In this episode, friend of the show, Jaymi Elford joins Charlie to discuss their favorite work-a-day spreads.  They talk about what it is that makes certain spreads useful to the reader and how to modify them when needed. Bonus: a Northwest Tarot Symposium Update!

In this episode, Rose and Charlie chat with Courtney Weber about her photographic Tarot deck, Tarot of the Boroughs, and her upcoming book about the Goddess Brigid.  Learn a little bit about what it takes to plan and shoot a deck of this scope and get a few tips from Courtney about reading for yourself.

Stay up to date with Courtney via her website http://thecocowitch.com/

This week, Rose and Charlie are joined by Karen Krebser and Jaymi Elford to discuss what they all got up to at this year’s Pantheacon in San Jose, CA. Listen to descriptions of panels, learn how to create a found oracle for Ancestor work, how to create rituals intuitively, and advanced Tarot techniques.

This week, with Rose and Charlie off at a conference, we feature clips from our vault that never quite made it into a podcast before we changed formats.  We talk about a piece we wrote for Modern Witch Magazine, titled 10 Things Your Tarot Teacher Never Told You.

We listen to blues and jazz singer Cassandra Wilson's song Tarot from her album Thunderbird. Visit Cassandra's site at http://www.cassandrawilson.com/.

We also give a behind the scenes look at what Rose has to put up with from time to time as your hosts try to record an intro for a recurring segment.

In this episode, Rose and Charlie talk about the newest decks coming out in 2015. You will want to look at the links while listening if you can as they go into details about their favorite and not so favorite decks from everyone you want to get a deck from!

Many thanks are owed to the members of the Aeclectic Tarot forum for helping to compile this list of forthcoming decks. If you think we were right on the money (or way off base) in any of our evaluations, send us a note at [email protected] and we will read it in an upcoming episode.
