Khanyisa Mapipa is Health Rights attorney and activist at the law centre, She holds a Bcom(law) and LLB degrees from Rhodes University and is currently pursuing her LLM in Human Rights through the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria.
Khanyisa has 7 years post admission experience, in which time she has worked both in the private and public sector, including the South African Human Rights Commission.
Khanyisa is a Mandela Washington Fellow and an alumnus of the Foundation for International Understanding Through Students within the University of Washington. Khanyisa is also a recipient of the 2023 Mail & Guardian 200 Young South Africans award.
Her current areas of expertise include sexual and reproductive health rights, oncology services, migrant health and emergency medical services.
