In doing the research for this episode, I tried to listen to a lot of Woody Guthrie songs. I never really knew much about him, other that one of the 3 Oklahoma "W" names. Woody Guthrie, Will Rogers, and Wiley Post. Now I will say that I was expecting a cross between Bob Dylan and Hank Williams Sr. I will say this diplomatically; Woody Guthrie must be an acquired taste. Not so much my cup of tea. But im glad, because I still did the work and looked into the info, so the podcast wouldnt suffer due to my taste. It wasn't until 1998 that a statue of Woody was erected. It is on the south side of Broadway between 3rd and 4th streets. And it has been said that Okemah wouldnt even recognize that Woody was from there, until all of the people that knew of him personally had gotten old and died.
