Tavern Chat

It seems we constantly revisit the question of the Paladin and the baby orcs. Nature vs nurture. Does it even apply in fantasy RPGs. My thoughts on the matter.

James Raggi published Zak Has Nothing to do With This Book at GenCon this summer, with a multi-page preface where he ranted about the community and defended Zak S. It was sold in PDF on DriveThruRPG until earlier today when James changed the title and removed the preface. I ordered the physical copy.

A teacher forming a game club specifically asked for SWL & SWCL for her students. How cool is that?

An article over at ICv2 about a gumball machine that dispenses in-game bonuses for cash. I opinionize.

I'm still at a loss for voice, but we have a follow up on the formalization of informal social contracts with Tim NOT of Gotheridge Manor ;)

WTF is an "ENnie Runner?" Someone that runs from the ENnies? Also, the gaming community lost another this weekend.

Yep, it appears I am losing my voice tonight. Still, ShireCon was a blast and I'm already looking forward to next year.

ShireCon is tomorrow. I thought I had more copies of Swords & Wizardry Light but instead, it appears I had just enough.  Forward to TPK, er, I mean Victory!

The Tavern has been doing well recently, both the blog side and the podcast. Sometimes not giving an F about the opinions of the loud but few allow you to better serve the community at large.
